"Right now though, it's all just words of course. We'll have to wait and see if it happens." The most succinct way to understand the situation.

Time running out to swap your Minecraft account over to Microsoft

A prime example of why I'm glad the Microsoft Activision monopoly wasn't approved! —yet. Unfortunately everyone has a price, these companies have deep pockets and expensive lawyers.

If You Like… Diablo

Good article. I've tried a couple of these other games to get my Diablo fix but I find the simpler system of Diablo more attractive to my smaller attention span (family life now, and MANY games since I dropped macOS!).

Side note, the Diablo IV Server Slam is going on right now (last day today), it's playing perfectly for me with Battle.net installed via Steam, using Proton Experimental (didn't try default latest Proton).

Edit: Server Slam's over. Boo.

Goodbye to Roblox on Linux with their new anti-cheat and Wine blocking

Support!? SUPPORT!? They didn't "SUPPORT" Linux in the first place! There was never documentation for running their Windows client under WINE supplied by them and definitely no native client! They're taking advantage of the wording of the question to sidestep ALLOWING their Windows client to run via WINE, which means, as usual, the Linux COMMUNITY supports getting it to run.

I genuinely feel like Microsoft threw them a bone to have more people install Spyware/Adware Windows. They'd sell their mother's teeth for a buck!

I feel bad for my kids who really enjoyed playing that damned game, but they know I'm not installing Windows to appease an a-hole company's agenda.

Side note; it makes sense that, although it might work through a VM, users are suggesting not attempting with your main account in case it gets banned.

Huge Steam Beta upgrade with new overlay, screenshot manager & more
28 Apr 2023 at 1:31 pm UTC

Quoting: fabertaweEDIT: I don't have the patience for this so I overwrote two folders from backup, deleted the beta file in the package directory and started with "-clearbeta".
Did this resolve the issue?

Also, trying to play a video full screen only makes the video as large as Steam's window dimensions for me (Manjaro KDE Wayland)

Roblox intentionally blocking Linux with Wine in their new update

Welp, my kids will be upset when we get back from vacation, and I'll make sure to explain that it's not Linux that sucks, but the publishers at Roblox.

EDIT: It looks like the change went into effect yesterday (May 3, EST).

The Last of Us Part I got a juicy patch with Steam Deck improvements

On my setup there's nearly no performance difference, although disabling vsync made it noticeably smoother whereas the toggle appeared to make no difference before.

The Last of Us now Unsupported on Steam Deck, bad look for Valve and Naughty Dog

…I'm sure they'll be worrying about their crap Windows port first.
