It's interesting to see Epic do something kinda beneficial for Linux users for a change. I highly doubt that goodwill will last through the holiday season.

Quoting: BeamboomLuckily the game turned out to be pretty crappy anyways, so it's not a big loss. For a long time I was hoping for a Bioshock experience. You were hoping for a shitty, dumbed-down System Shock clone?

Considering Google will nuke entire accounts just for typing too many emojis, I would be surprised if Stadia saw a massive influx of users. Now that we find out they offer a whole dozen games, I would be surprised if more than a hundred people try it out.

Quoting: Lolo01Still stuck on Overwatch.Just say something disparaging about China's use of force in taking over Hong Kong and Blizzard'll ban you. Then you don't have to worry about that addiction any more.
Please, help me !!!

On a completely unrelated note, I've been playing some Ittle Dew, which is a neat action adventure puzzle game.

Quoting: subPillars of Eternity 2 is really, REALLY good. PoE1 OTOH, not so much. The end is neat, but the entire story feels too gimmicky to really work. The real killjoy being the insane amounts of combat against enemies with about 3 times the hp they ought to have.Quoting: eldakingJust today I finally reached Big Boss 1 on Dota Underlords, which is nice.Pillars of Eternity is a fantastic game very close to the classic Baldur's Gate games.
I have recently decided to give Pillars of Eternity a try and its really good, but I am not really into RPGs. I'll try to finish this one though.
And I have recently gone back to Crusader Kings 2. I think I'll do a super-religious France roleplay run and maybe get a few achievements.
Yet, way(!) too much text for me, much more than BG1+2 had.

With Steam Play, they could just show the games that Valve has added to the whitelist. I believe those are supposed to Just Work™.

Quoting: sarmadWhy would anyone stream retro games when emulators already exists and run perfectly and don't need more than a low level CPU to run them at full performance? I don't get it.Because getting the old games to use with the emulators can be really expensive. Especially pre-CD era games.
Looks like Beyond a Steel Sky, the sequel to the classic Beneath a Steel Sky is coming to Linux

The emulation and media player front-end RetroArch just had a huge new release

I hope the playlist sanitizer is included, it's a neat feature.

Quoting: NezchanHave they finally made it so you can install and configure it without at least a four-year degree on the subject? Every time I've tried Retroarch, that's been the most painful experience of all.Yeah, the standard install recommends just using the cores that are in your repositories. It can be changed in the settings:
EDIT: Aaaaaaparently not. Still no real explanation of the "cores" thing, and unclear as to how to get them, at least under Linux. The FAQ says to go to the Online Updater and choose "Update Cores". That option, unsurprisingly, doesn't exist. So short of searching all over the internet, there's no clear way for a new user to know what to do.
menu_show_core_updater = "true"I hope the playlist sanitizer is included, it's a neat feature.
