Salt mining: replace the SteamOS icon by the Ubuntu icon. They're recommending Ubuntu on the Steam download page anyway.

Quoting: KimmoKMI'll have to with Dominions 4. I've barely played anything else for a year.Well, I kinda like the customizations in Dom 2, like the one which changes default Ulm into a vampire race. Small things, but they can catch your fellow players off guard.
Not that it matters in terms of playing it, but it might also be interesting to note that the authors appear to have been using Linux since the release of the original (Dom 1 through 3 are completely replaced by their successors and obsolete, mind you) in the beginning of 2000s.

Wait a minute... "sudo gedit"? That shouldn't work. Unless you've got sudo aliased to xdg-su, kdesu, gksu, or something like that.

Title and article aren't really meshing together, seems more like Valve is planning on doing their own take on things (problem: we have X competing standards, attempted solution: create a better standard, problem: we have X+1 competing standards).
Of course in this case it could actually work if they decide to integrate some VCS and P2P type functionalities to facilitate global rollout of updates.

Mandatory Open Build Service plug. It provides One Click Installs for OpenSUSE devices, and creates both repositories and packages for CentOS, Debian, OpenSUSE, RHEL, SLE, Ubuntu,...
Also mandatory "Ubuntu software is 3 versions out of date" joke.

Apple is very walled garden; and for whatever reason enterprise loves Apple. Microsoft's biggest product is Azure (and patents/licensing). Windows doesn't net them nearly as much, or at least so I've been told.

Quoting: calvinMicrosoft can't go walled garden; it would enrage enterprise, and that's a primary market for them - much larger than gaming, despite its status as a growth market. You're gonna have to explain that one to me.

Welp, there goes my wishlist. If this keeps up I'll end up owning all Linux games on GoG (no I won't, there's some games on there that seem positively terrible).
