And I'm the third (AMD GPU user).

AMD rocks because their OS drivers are better than Nouveau, and their hardware is better than Intel.

Vote button for nethack on open source games is broken for me, network analyzer shows nothing. Running Firefox.

EDIT: Refresh fixed it, prolly JS silliness.

So much voting for Pillars of Eternity happened. Love it so much.

Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition for Linux & SteamOS is being held up (updated)

Quoting: NyamiouThis type of bug can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an eternity to fix, I hope it wont be an eternity.
At least someone here is familiar with software development. Seriously people, be glad they iron that kind of problem out instead of delivering a game that hard-locks your display driver causing a kernel oops or some such.

Having played my share of games with spotty Linux compatibility (original Linux release of Shadowrun Returns, anyone?) I'm grateful that we'll probably get a game that runs smoothly without a bunch of weird glitches making the whole experience an exercise in tedium.

EDIT: Note, I backed the game on kickstarter, so I've been waiting as long as anyone here.

User Submitted Editorial: Current Linux gaming situation

Thing is, what makes Linux perfect for stuff that's actually important (servers,embedded,...) also makes it a pain for desktop gaming: modularity.

I don't mind though, I love tinkering and the games I like are all old hat anyway.

Note to self: start gaming under sourcemage. (Although, truth be told, installing sourcemage IS a video game.)

And we're still at around 1% of steam users, so there's absolutely no reason for anyone to target Linux unless they have personal reasons to do so.

Valve Looks Like It's Removed The SteamOS Icon For Games That Work On Linux, But Not Perfectly On SteamOS

Welp, good thing we still have GOG...

Damnit Valve, you're making it very difficult for me to like you if you act up like this.

New Linux Gaming Survey For October

Isn't there a way to add multiple radio buttons to an input thing?
So you could have done that last question as a 1 to 5 scale of importance?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing September's results.

More Shadowrun: Hong Kong.
Also more Nethack, it's been a while.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Free Weekend & XCOM 2 Available For Pre-Order For Day-1 Release
10 Sep 2015 at 9:01 pm UTC

Quoting: kingofrodeoI never pre-order, ever. There's no reason to, I can only play the game the day it comes out so what's the point?
I like to pre-order on (semi-)rare occasions, to show my appreciation to developers for making games I love, despite the very small market share my preferred genres and OS have.

I believe it to be kind of similar to donating (time and/or money) to open source projects, if it can make someone's day a little better, then that's worth whatever the cost.
