Heck, Steam is providing devs with free publicity and notifying them too!

After W10 expiration, this is a very smart move on behalf of our Lord and Savior Gaben.

Offloading individual responsibility on the society/government.

The lazy way to solve one problem and create one hundred.

Well done! You'll find me and my popcorn bag waiting for your tears when you'll realize what was the hidden cost of outsourcing your critical thinking to others.

Maybe it's just PR speak, but they seem genuinely happy to support Deck.

Which is incredibly refreshing, for such a mainstream franchise.

A pretty good change from the typical "oh, it works also on that thing?" approach most other developers have. I encourage everyone to thumb up the announcement, as token of appreciation. Even if, like me, don't have nor plan to buy the game.

Proton Experimental updated with fixes for The Crew Motorfest, Farlight 84 and more games

Gotta be honest here.

Proton devs (both inhouse and upstream from WINE) are doing an insane job, both as amount of things fixed, and speed at which fixes go out.

Not to mention they have to deal mostly with closed-source games they cannot tweak, and they "fix" by changing their side of the equation.

Do anyone knows how many people Valve has on payroll whose job is to patch Proton to work with as many games as possible?

I'm frankly impressed.

It's already tough as nails to keep a (relatively straightforward) piece of software like a driver safe and secure.

I can't imagine how complicated would be to add a part that must be 110% secure for everyone *BUT* for the self-appointed good guys.

I'm glad the largest company in the world takes this stand against abusive governments.

And if you think UK is bad on this, do you want a rant about US? No, you don't.

Developer of PlayStation 1 emulator DuckStation threatens "removing Linux support entirely" but not yet

I have the feeling that this trend of packagers throwing upstreamers under the bus is not going to end well.
