Quoting: liamdawe
Quoting: wolfyrionAll of these I consider them abandomware and I am not gonna spend a penny on them.
Abandonware is basically a made up term for pirates, it's not a real legal thing.

Also, it wouldn't even fall under that made up term, since it's being obviously sold.
Abandonware is a product, typically software, ignored by its owner and manufacturer, and for which no product support is available. Although such software is usually still under copyright, the owner may not be tracking or enforcing copyright violations.

10$ for a 90's game is too much!!!

All of these I consider them abandomware and I am not gonna spend a penny on them.
They should have been totally free from Disney or GOG as I can already play them on DosBox.

Hard Reset Redux is not coming to Linux despite appearing in SteamDB

"HR isn't popular enough to justify the Linux port"

Thats not the way how marketing works and is totally wrong for the developers to thing like that!

The game isnt very popular but Linux/Mac gamers actually want to play new games, so by releasing your game on both mac and Linux you have like 3m extra clients to try your new product.
I am not saying that you will sell 3m copies but you will get a lot of benefits as a developer doing that ports.

Hard Reset Redux it costs 3$ if you are a previous owner of Hard Reset

Cheese Talks: Porting Games to Linux & Day of the Tentacle

Very nice and detailed article but it didnt answer my basic noob questions , just some questions from a noob respective

Well I havent done any programming since like 15-20 years , so I wonder How hard is to get to the industry ? I mean what do you have to know? what I have to read? What programming languages you have to know? Are there any specific tools that you need for the porting? Do I need to know assembly ? Physics? Math? Gaming Engines? What compiler to use? etc etc.... PANIC MODE!!!

For me is like an endless road of knowledge , tools and information that I would just simply give up.
I would love to hear how you started with all these.

Kentucky Route Zero Act IV now Available

is this the final act so as to start playing? or I have to wait for another act in a year?

You know my memory is not that good to remember a game after 2 years so I prefer to play it once the game is finished :D
