Sales Statistics From Super Win the Game, All Platforms Did Badly
29 Sep 2015 at 1:57 pm UTC

$16,603.75 for M$ Windows
$1,156.25 for Mac
$740 for Linux

My opinion is that it doesnt matter the $ of sales in each OS but the developer have to see the whole picture globally instead of focusing on each OS.

Actually he should consider the Linux and Mac ports as a Bonus Sales! :)

I dont know how hard it was to port to Linux and Mac but I just hope the whole journey to port his game to Mac and Linux has teach him a lot of things so he can use what he had learned in the future with less hassles.

I just wish him good luck in his future projects and hopefully with the rise of Steam Machines his Linux sales will be increased as well ...

On Pre-Orders And Other Nasty Buying Habits
28 Sep 2015 at 11:42 am UTC

Preorders or Kickstarter are almost the same to me....

Pre-Order = You see an AAA that would arrive on Linux after 1 year , you pre-order it and after two moth Linux support is out :(

KickStarter = You backup a project on Kickstarter because it looks promising and is on Linux and at the end they fail to deliver the project for Linux in time or not at all. :(

So how you want me to react as a Linux user??? :><:

If I dont pre-order a game developers will say , meh we had 100000 preorders from Winx Users and 10 from Linux so lets drop Linux - who cares about Linux and the same goes with Kickstarter.....

On the other hand I could just say $%#%$#% you , pirate their games or at least get cheap steam keys and who cares....

A lot of developers promised to bring their games to Linux from preorder or kickstarter but at the end nothing!
That made a lot of Linux users to doubt about developers reliability.

so if its not out don't buy it sometimes it maybe wrong.... some developers consider pre-orders a significant part for there internements.
I could say that is better to backup/support and buy/preorder/kickstarter the products of a list of developers who brought their games already to Linux and didnt break their promises.

For Example XCOM2 you think their is a chance to drop Linux support if I preorder the game ?

Anyway usually I do whatever I feel like , if something is really worth it, I may invest Iike 50$ or more on kickstarter or on preorders....

Some people categorized SOMA as a walking simulator :D

Well lets say that the few hours are like that , walking and exploring...
Also they have said that the estimate gameplay is like 7-9 hours so I assume and hope that SOMA will get more intense later...

Quoting: aristoriasWhat does nvidia do?
They deliver the hardware and drivers that enabled me to play on Linux and dump my Windows.
I was an ATI HardCore fan, all my computers had ATI cards on ex-windows + Linux.

I also had a brand new ATI for my Linux Machine and sold it for half price in order to get a new GTX 980 for obvious reasons.
All these catalyst drivers and the graphics performance were a total mess.

I just want my OS/Hardware to work to its maximum performance.

if ATI can give me what I want then I will support them otherwise they have to get their asses together and fix their drivers.

I was trying yesterday to install ATI Drivers to one of my clients, an ATI Driver on a Hybrid Intel/AMD Windows 7 Machine. Even with AUTO utility that diagnoses the driver and install them automatically,It took me around 1h to install the driver and at the end I had to do a system restore back to original driver because nothing was working properly.

Also ATI/Intel Hybrid is simply impossible to install it on a Linux Machine , I have tried and failed many times but with an NVIDA Hybrid is working fine.

Gunmetal Arcadia Will Get An Action Platformer Prequel Early Next Year
21 Sep 2015 at 5:18 am UTC

I dont really understand how this patron funding works...

I am a bit confused and I consider this a bad strategy to gain funding.

Lets say I pledge 10$ per month...

It doesnt have any eta when both games will finish

so what if the project will take 1 year to finish?

10$x 12 = 120$ for 2 indie games ? :|

I dont know the value of the games but usually games like these are estimated max 10-15$.
I would prefer an option like Pay $$ -ONCE-to get both games

I find it very hard to fund developers these days due to some developers failing to deliver what they have promised. So at the end of the day I am like "First deliver your product , lets see what you have done , is your game REALLY worth the $$$ you are asking for ? Yes ? = Buy it

Good luck on your project..
