Unreal Tournament Has Come A Long Way, New Beautiful Map Included
3 Mar 2015 at 5:16 pm UTC

Quoting: AndyMcDandyCDNI tried it back in mid January. At that time I was getting a lot of weird graphic glitches in every map. Going to wait for a bit before trying again.
There was a workaround for that at the time.
But it's all fixed now. No need to wait.

Unreal Engine Is Now Free, Including Access To The Source Code
3 Mar 2015 at 1:27 pm UTC

Quoting: STiATWhat the heck... now I really have to take a closer look at UE4 again. Hopefully the Editor Port is really coming too.

And with that, UE4 will be a bet by a lot of indie developers. 5% in the end, and not having to come up with financing for engine licenses during the development is a huge pro.

It's still 5 % on gross revenue, so 30 % Steam (or any distributor) will take, 5 % for the engine, so you'll only see 65 % of the revenue.
They take 5% sure. But your game could potentially be alot better than the same game made on Unity. And therefore sell more copies.
If your game is good, your 65% could then possibly add up to more than if you used an inferior engine and got 70%

DRM Free Games Sales Orgy With GOG's Double Insomnia Promo
3 Mar 2015 at 1:15 pm UTC

I only buy old games from them. If they want to sell me newer titles, they would need to also supply a steam when possible.
I am unsure why they don't. Humble bundle does it with alot of games. You get a drm free download aswell as a steam key.
Best of both worlds.

Just because it means Volcano, doesn't mean it they did that on purpose. Maybe they picked it cause it sounded cool or something.

I will just stick with Revolution. Looks like pretty much the same game. They coulda just added some stuff to revolution in a DLC instead of making it a whole new game.

For me KDE is the face of Linux. It has always been my main desktop since 2002 on Debian "woody"
If KDE didn't exist, I probably would never have stayed with linux at all.
I still take a look at all the other desktops on my spare machine when new versions come out. But I can't stand any of them.
I would rather give up computers or use windows.

From The Depths, A Sandbox Game About Building Battleships Now On Linux
4 Feb 2015 at 12:57 pm UTC

I bought it a few months ago. It was fun, pretty complicated though. I spent more time watching videos learning how to play it than I spent playing it. Not bad performance for a Unity game.

My only real problem with it was it saves in a non-hidden folder in home. So I requested it be fixed and uninstalled it for now. (Sounds petty to some, but I can't stand it)

I have high hopes for the game and plan to try it again if the save folder is fixed.

Aspyr's Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remaster Is Real And It's Out, We Have Keys For You [Key hunt is over]

The Movie "Misery" scared me to death when I was young. My parents made me watch it so I would be scared of strangers. It worked too. I will never forget when the woman breaks his ankles so he can't get away.

Now I am older though. I love this movie. I recommend you to see it, if you haven't already.

At least they were smart enough to drop Unity engine and change to Unreal. The game will be way better for it.
