Quoting: WJMazepasHe's talking about the Pinebook. It has a Allwinner A64 SoC, with a Mali-400MP2 GPU.

For now, has not a really good hardware acceleration
It is not just for now, it's almost for decade of years.
I think, that's really problem why ARM will not gain signifant marketshare with GNU\Linux.
To be honest, I don't know how good is MIPS' graphic drivers either, but for last years I see MIPS as decreased marketshare.

Where did you get that information? Chrome OS user agent string report it as CrOS, all other major Linux distro report as Linux. Why would they put them together, it's not the market share of kernels.
Sorry, but you're wrong. Check any month from the table above: sum Windows+Mac+Linux. What do you see? You'll see 100%. There are no spare percentage for "other" OSes, such as ChromeOS, *BSD, even ReactOS (OS binary compatible with Windows, from crazy Russians).

I don't think GNU\Linux has grown 33% in one month. I see the table with data above, but I assume they could change their algoritmhs, and thus change the percentage.

Quoting: Power-Metal-GamesI will not count all the problems I experienced with Windows, but I will just describe the worst of all of them: when I finaly stoped using it and decided to switch to Linux I done it because CPU usage on my computer started growing last months every time by some prcent and finaly riched 99%...
Sorry, but it could be solved via re-installing OS after formatting system drive.
Still, I glad you came to GNU\Linux.

Celestian Tales: Realms Beyond, an RPG that follows on from Celestian Tales: Old North

I like a soundtrack from the video above. IDK, may be I will like the game. It looks pricey for me, probably I will buy it someday with huge discount. I wish good luck to the developers.

Excited for Tropico 6? Here's a new trailer to keep you going
27 Aug 2017 at 5:33 pm UTC

IDK, for me Tropico 5 looks as much as Tropico 4. Except Tropico 4 wasn't there on Linux. And if I recall correctly, not all Tropico players love pretty much a thing like foreign intrusion, which was presen in the latest games of the series.

In the market for a pricey
No.

But I would be in for a cheap ARM laptop ultraportable, with a decent screen (slim bezels not to loose space).
I only need vim in a VT, and a couple of days of battery :)

OK, if you want to be fancy, add in links, ssh, and maybe, maybe some VNC or GUI of some kind (with a browser).

But all I personaly really need right now is a cheap, low-power portable terminal ;)
The Pinebook is something like you want. But the screen is low end.

I have a CHUWI Lapbook 14.1, which has a Quad-Core Celeron, 4GB RAM and a 1080p matte display. The battery lasts more than 8 hours with Ubuntu MATE. It comes with W10 but Linux worked with 0 issues. It could solve your problem a laptop like my
I've looked into it, it sounded perfect (even got the mail for placing an order) until I figured that it was using a Mali GPU :/

For now, I will keep my old Samsung notebook :)
That is, until I find better. But I will have a look at the other solutions offered here.
Are u sure? It sad it has Intel HD 500 graphics there https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Graphics-500.182723.0.html [External Link] and there https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/intel/celeron/n3450 [External Link].

And about Chuwi. IDK how it goes right now, but I remember their tablets was extremely low-quality almost any fourth was with some defect right from manufactory. There are big community in Russian internet about Chuwi tablets and topics about their defects has hundreds of pages.

Be careful, this is Paradox with their ill of DLC (i.e. of DLC pricing).
Probably I will buy this one somewhere in early 2020-ies.

The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2
21 Aug 2017 at 5:16 pm UTC

Well, Witcher 3 was promised AND cancelled long after that VP-storm. So they promised, don't mind to haters, and cancelled, don't mind to haters. In the end, it all comes down to the price. SteamOS and Steam machines are failed (though it was nice try), even Valve don't support VR stuff on their's own platform. But how many VR owners in Steam? 100k? (and I very optimistic there). VR of course much coster, than Alienware Steam machine (alpha counterpart). Not any gamer could use VR because of their health (I, for an example, cannot and not only due to bad vision). Almost any glasses owner couldn't, except the ones, who uses lenses.
...
Now I have about 50% of my library in Steam compatible with Linux. Sadly, most of them are indie (and some of them broken, I don't mind much).

Some thoughts on the new strategy game Sudden Strike 4
13 Aug 2017 at 10:05 am UTC

I respect your right to demand this GOG galaxy, but I don't understand, why oh why indie devs don't release just rpm/deb packages? I don't need a just another launcher which downloads 100mb before it launch each time... If I could, I even didn't istall a Steam client.
