On the contrary, I prefer to avoid any association with "gamer culture". I play games; "gamer" is not an identity for me that I just "am a gamer".

That's exactly what I meant by letting them take away the word from you. People associate good general words with special things and spoil them. Let's keep the words. They're ours just as well.

Artsy linear narrative disguised as choices so you felt engaged or that you were being led to interpret the experience, but were beat over the head with a talking point.

I have just finished The Red Strings Club [External Link], and while it's not traditional point and click, it deserves being played for its atmosphere and the questions it asks. Currently in the Devolver Digital sale for 50% (7 ½ € here).

What do you mean by that?

"Standalone" would have been the better word probably.

They have to make it run on Linux to put it on Stadia. But they don't need to adapt it to general desktop usage and publish it. We're not many, so... they might well avoid this.
