Quoting: riusmaI have This War of Mine on my Steam library (with the War Child Charity DLC) and I never found the time to launch it... I hope that when I will be in the right mood for playing it it will still be playable on Linux. :|Do it, it's absolutely worth it!

Quoting: RussianNeuroMancerHmm, seems like people still have this issue and use same workaround: https://steamcommunity.com/app/282070/discussions/0/610573751159186268/?ctp=8#c3288067088127050581 [External Link]Do you wonder if you should buy the game? I could see what libc version I've got and if I hit the bug in the next days.

Quoting: pb> Anyone who purchased it solely for Linux support does have a right to be annoyed, but can they refund it? Not unless you're within two weeks and under two hours play time. This has to be a valid reason.
I think it's still worth a shot, Valve is sometimes flexible with refunds and dropping Linux is a valid reason. I'd try but I bought it from humble store. :-(

Quoting: tonRJust wanna ask y'all...It predates Steam for Linux by half a decade, so for sure falls under the "Make oldies run" rule. So... Yes.
Should I buy Left 4 Dead 1?
I do have pirated copy but I unsure to buy the original one as it didn't support Linux. But right now with Steamplay support, I really tempted to grab it. Opinions?

Quoting: dubigrasuThe original Metro 2033 was Windows-only. (Only Metro Last Light had a Linux port)I thought I'd remember this as (one of?) the first big non-Valve Linux game after Steam for Linux start, but I guess it was the successor.

I wish them all the best, but IMHO, such attempts are doomed to fail. In the end, it will cost more than hardware off the shelf, not offer more, and there's not enough people caring enough for the topic to make it a success nevertheless.
Good luck.

Quoting: stretch611Despite proton sales and time in game being calculated as a linux purchase; it does not send the message that there is interest in the game from linux users... the clear message is that they can sell the game and make money without the need to develop a port.Nothing to add from my side.
WINE, Proton, DXVK are all wonderful technological achievements. I do think they help the linux community and can aid in making it grow. However, I think it is best used as a tool used to allow people to switch to linux and not leave their existing software library behind. Essentially, it can be a big investment that no one wants to lose by changing OS's.
