You might consider to split up the Debian-based distros, like
( ) Debian
( ) Ubuntu
( ) SteamOS
( ) Mint?
( ) Other Debian-based distros

I think it's like with many things: Some hundred in such a group don't make any difference, many thousands could.

I think detecting and starting games is the first important things.
I didn't yet take a look at it, but what I would wish for after this is better organization/filtering of games than Steam does.
