Bum Simulator will simulate life as a homeless person

Quoting: TheSHEEEPBut: What I say is that there is a difference between hypocrites (people who say A and do B) and do-gooders (people who say A, do A, claim that A is good, but A is actually a bad thing once you think about it more deeply).
So, a try-do-gooder?
A naive hypocrite then? :)
Erm, no, not at all. About the opposite.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPThere is a difference between between doing good and being a do-gooder as I described them. Yes, the words, I know... don't blame me, blame the English language.
Language is not something happening to us, it's something made by us. I feel (strongly), we shouldn't perpetuate the connotation of "doing good" and something bad. (There's something similar in German with "Gutmensch" (eng: "good human".))

I'm a proud do-gooder/Gutmensch. I hope.

I wondered if I got it right and there is another meaning of "bum".
Image googling did confirm it. :D
Wondering what a simulator about those would be like...

The Humble War Gamez Bundle has a few Linux games for you

Quoting: EikeYou're fine when you activate and start it on Linux, this overrides the selling system. I've set my work hrowser's user agent to Linux for the Steam page just to make sure.
Does this account for all games? I bought Trailblazers from GOG, first downloaded and played on linux but been dual-booting to play the actual thing because linux build has a game-breaking bug atm

Not sure if GOG is the same process as steam? Would feel bad as hell if they count that as a windows purchase when I bought it with the intention of playing it on linux
Sorry, what I wrote is valid for Steam, I don't know how other stores handle it.

Quoting: tmtvlOh right, there's 1 wargame in there.

Also, a game about war isn't a wargame, otherwise Valiant Hearts and Skyrim would we wargames as well.

Well, I'm surprised by this rather narrow definition. I'd call every game of the collection "Kriegsspiel" (literally "war game" ). Valiant Hearts would be an anti war game in my book, and Skyrim neither, as the war is not central to the game.

Quoting: HoriDamn!

I hurried and bought it on Windows by mistake (I'm at work, I don't have Linux here)
I got excited about Day of Infamy, which is the only one I want from there.

Will it still count as a Linux purchase if I activate the keys on Linux?

Quoting: tmtvl> Calls it the War Gamez bundle
> No war games in it

What's humble even doing?
I heard they actually do call World War II a war, which would make a game about it... you guess it.

Quoting: slaapliedjeThis is why there is no such thing as heteronormative.
IMHO, you're just misinterpreting the term. It's not used to say that being hetero is unnormal, it's supposed to say that being hetero is not a norm/standard to be set for everybody. There's different people, and that's ok.

Quoting: slaapliedjeBUT (all caps!) the reason for this discussion is the completely unnecessary inclusion of non-gendered people (yup, that's what I'm calling anyone who doesn't fit the yin/yang, pick one, don't be greedy like bisexuals.) in video games.
Nothing about video games is necessary. Their contents (and their very existence) are up to the makers/artists. Question is, why do you think artists shoulnd't put non-hetros in their art?

Quoting: slaapliedjeThis is my complaint, when current social trends dictate what should be and overwrites or stamps over their thoughts on what the original writers had conceived.
Sorry, but this totally describes what you are doing at this very moment: You want to dictate the makers of the game to stop such "completely unnecessary inclusion". They are "the original writers" of their game.

Quoting: PatolaI will look forward to reading this book, but on this very same subject I've also got a hilarious book to recommend: Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice to All Creation [External Link]. It is not exclusively about homo/bi/transsexuality, but it is so funny (without oversimplifying anything, and always maintaining scientific accuracy) that it spawned a TV series.
Man, this sounds great for learning something without making it too hard. I'm surprised it hasn't been translated to German...
