Which isn't stated in the article. That one was more of a pointer for your next submission, which you're free to take into account or not. :DIn fact I'm poundering a bad example. Let's see. :o)

Quoting: HyeronI wouldn't have written this plea if I wouldn't have met these other Linuxers...Again, I'm not asking you to give up your customer rights. I'm asking you to do what Linux gamers are expected to do well; be tech-savy, friendly people who help each other.Erm... Nope. Or we haven't been seeing the same Linux users.
The main point of this example is not "financially", but "emotionally". I didn't have a second look at this game, it's not my cup of tea. I'm not to judge if it's worth selling more than a thousand copies. But if some of us make Linux support emotionally draining - and some obviously do - this should end. Which reminds me of the example I forgot and which would have been much better for the emotional/politeness part: The Stanley Parable. There's been some bad news about Linux games lately like Super Win the Game which sold only fifty copies for Linux and hasn't been worth the cost, "financially and emotionally", to support the platform. And about what? 700 for Windows? Please.
There ARE such things as bad games, even on Steam. There are, and we shouldn't buy and shouldn't praise them.

Quoting: pbI think the biggest problem for companies are customers that are running unsupported distros and/or on unsupported hardware.I liked the way, erm... Feral or Aspyr, can't remember, does it. They're always saying if a distro is not supported, but they are still gathering all problems and solutions for those and often can help people although they're not officially supporting their platform. But if someone would call for full support or refund or something, they can always say this setup not supported.
Quoting: linuxgamerThat should be a problem of Nvidia/AMD if there are any issues. Valve showed that the linux performance doesnt have to be worse than Window's.People don't think that way. They won't go the Nvidia or AMD complaining, but to the game makers where they paid their 5 bucks. In the end, people cannot even judge whose fault it really is. So the graphics drivers' problems will result in game makers problems.

The artice says: "The veritable steam behind the Machines weakened as the year wore on". So true. I didn't hear anything about it for quite some time and am happy there's at least some news now...
A Linux Port Of Frozen Synapse Prime Is Unlikely

Quoting: tmtvlInstead of complaining anyone who wants the game can port it themselves. They're kinda giving you the go ahead there.I e-mailed them, but I would have to do it in my spare time, and if it's as much work as they say, that's probably not feasible. There's been no answer (yet).

Frozen Synapse (the "vanilla" one) made be play it more than 200 hours and that's the largest amount I dumped into a game since I'm using steam (and perhaps ever?).
I wouldn't have bought it, as yes, it looks ugly, but got it as a gift, and it is a extremely good game with a very nice multiplayer community.
If you're into multiplayer tactics, I recommend getting the original one.

Quoting: DMJCHonestly I'm not too surprised about this. I looked at Frozen Synapse and my first thought was "Great another Indie game I don't want to buy" It's sad but true. Steam is being flooded right now with lots of low end titles that I frankly can't be bothered to pickup outside of a Humble Bundle.I liked XCom very much and played it for more than 120 hours.

Quoting: SeredFunny, 'cause it's untrue. It says "deutschsprachiger Raum", which means Germany, Austria and parts of Switzerland. In Austria I can buy the game, it's listed fine in steam, as is the predecessor :)If you find some public source for that information, I can change the article.
