Europa Universalis IV Complete Collection available on Humble Bundle
25 Mar 2022 at 8:21 am UTC

Quoting: PhlebiacGot the Humble EU IV bundle back in January 2020; don't remember if it was "complete" at that time, but there's definitely stuff in the new bundle that wasn't in the old one (but nothing that looks worth shelling out another $20).
Same here. As far as i can see, only the last 2 expansions are new to this bundle, which makes it about the same price you pay when the 2 expansions are on sale anyway.

Just for the curiosity: is it possible to split the bundle, so you can take the parts you don't allready own and gift the rest to someone?

Really love the fact that CA has the courage to go new paths instead of making the xth remake like other studios/publishers.
That said I hope that they come back to historical games. To see a new Attila or Napoleon TW with the new mechanics would be so awesome. (Not to mention Rome, but I guess Rome II is just not old enough.)

That sounds interesting, i think i will give it a go. Especially because i have continuous problems with (wireless) mouse and keyboard, which currently hang in situations with high CPU-usage (on a MX Linux system).

From a pure User perspective (i'm not into software development)i wish for 2 things:
- if i'm going after some customization, most of the time i don't want to see ALL options. Just give me the most common ones and let me see the advanced options only if i ask for that
- give me a reliable source of help. I'm absolutly fed up with "Look into the forums." where i get 10 "solutions" to my problem, every single one of them contradicting the others, on different hardware, then i have to figure out if it is a problem of the distro or the DE, then i have to type in some cryptic commands in the shell according to other forum members and hand them other infos which i barely understand myself and hope that the guy (or lady) has the patience to help till the end. That is absolutly not helping to get confidence.

So it's a standard Paradox Release.

I don't get it. They are getting so much backlash from their Releases (maybe more in EU IV than in HoI4, but still) and still refuse to make changes to the QM. I mean, ok, they are not willing to have internal Beta-Testing and they don't have the option to Fake-Early-Access (like Factorio, for example - let's be honest, it's a finished game) since they released the games to sell DLCs. But why dont't they just establish Beta-Branches of the Games for enthusiasts and make proper releases after getting things fixed?

Quoting: Purple Library Guy

Quoting: Purple Library GuyBut I play a lot of build-stuff-up games, and having what I can build determined by drawing random cards just doesn't sound fun to me, and kind of conceptually stupid. Like I'm imagining calling the work crew together and saying "OK, so I know that what the town's economy really needs right now is a marketplace, and I promise that's what I was planning. Unfortunately, everyone seems to have simultaneously forgotten how to build one. All we can remember is house, watchtower or library. Maybe we could, I dunno, build a library and people could trade their chickens there? Anyway, sorry about that, hopefully soon the marketplace concept will pop up in our brains again."
Workers: "Uh, just what drugs are you on, boss?"
I guess I'm just coming from bit different angle. As long as it's fun, it's valid design choice. Card games in general might have little trouble of being exactly realistic and might have lot of things that make sense from card game perspective, but don't have reasonable in world explanation why things work like they do. Or at least some imagination is needed.

I guess more realistic version of a town management game would be game where you spend most of your time in meetings where you go through complaints about the new building plans...
I did mention first off, did I not, that it seemed like not fun? It being counterintuitive is just the icing. I think it would be frustrating to have a building-the-place-up type game where it's random whether you're allowed to build the place up. Just let me do it.
Coming from an European Country it seems totally legit to me. It's like the mayor wants to build up a new Recycling Facility but only gets funding for public transport system.
