Quoting: FredOWell this is interesting; it looks like the MAC version was canned due to complications with the OS. Such things are making Linux look like a nicely maturing gaming OS indeed!Seems to be than mac game devs will have to start using metal before than expected. I have also heard than they arent fixing opengl bugs than has been appearing on newer releases of os x. Since metal is easier to use than vulkan I wouldnt be surprised if it starts being used soon, but they probably have to create an "indirect" (togl-like) alternative first

They first leaked a development build of the linux version, and now they did the same with a news post announcing it for linux. Somehow that game really wants to be released very soon, but feral keeps grabbing his heel to stop the release lol

It doesnt look exactly the same, the color is a bit more bright on the windows side. Its still sad to see than linux only get around 40 - 50% the windows performance, this definitely sucks, there is no other way to say that. Its probably the linux game where I have seen the biggest difference, maybe on windows it was just too optimized.
Still, I think we should blame the drivers on this game, (and afaik feral is working with them to improve the performance and bugs) I guess than coming releases will make it run better. I will still play it on linux, since I should get good fps on my machine, but trolls will use cases like this to show why linux gaming must die, that sucks
Quoting: liamdaweI can't blame him, because he has a hardware than its over the recommended settings, and he still get very bad performance. Being rude is never justifiable (as he was), but he has a fair point.Quoting: neowiz73it's to be expected though, since the game was originally developed for directx and not opengl.I tried explaining that to someone, and it descended into hell [External Link].

Another thing is than mac people somehow doesnt like to make benchmarks, as long as it works properly they are happy.

Quoting: linuxgamerAs people complain about Linux overall performance and frame drops, is the Mac port so much better, or do people don't complain when its a Mac thing?I have read than mac people had a good time with the port (even if it doesnt support TressFX on os x), and they get decent performance on intel gpus. This only shows than more than a port issue, we should also take a look at the drivers, is known than feral already contacted the driver devs about the issues they have with their games, so I wouldnt be surprised if in a future update performance can improve.
