Quoting: fagnerln
Quoting: liamdaweHonestly I don't expect any new games to come with Vulkan until next year.
If UE4 receive full support to Vulkan, I don't think it takes so long.
From feral or indie engines probably not this year (except TTP), but indeed UE4 games will soon support vulkan, there is even a game than currently support it (The isle), or thats what they claim, than they are using vulkan in the last update, because UE4 enabled it.

Quoting: theRealPadsterIt was always known for being very well-optimised. The sad thing is, running the same settings on Windows and Linux I get maybe 65-75% of the performance on Linux. :/
On saints row 3 for example, I get around 70% the windows performance on nvidia card, and the same pattern keeps repeating on most of the linux games. I guess is the best we can get from an engine not optimized for opengl.

Benchmaks are very useful to see the performance, but boring unless they are compared to windows

Quoting: fagnerlnI love SW3, it's my favorite open-world game of all time. SW4 is great too, but isn't fun as SW3. The only thing that annoy me is their loading, it takes too long in comparison to Windows.

Takes >1min in Linux and a few seconds in Windows.
True, I have the game on windows and linux on a hdd, and on linux it needs a lot of time loading

Related to performance, its like 70% the windows performance, but still works great, I played it all on linux, same with sr2

Saints Row 2 Linux port report, not good

So people with older hardware are reporting to have better performance than people with very new hardware? This is strange.

Saints Row 2 Linux port report, not good

I have read about tweaks to make the game run better on windows, I guess those should also work on this port. And I guess this explain why still no mac version lol, since they have a limited hardware.

Some early The Talos Principle Vulkan benchmarks

so they fixed whatever was causing problems on cpu-bound scenarios? since on 4k it runs better on vulkan. It's good to see than even if the engine is still not optimized for vulkan, its already giving good results.

I wonder why their opengl renderer runs so fast compared to other engines.

So valve released benchmarks (in plural)? LOL, this is how misinformation starts
