This game is one of those few available masterpieces, the sound, graphics, story, gameplay, fun puzzles, it's just worth to play.

Medieval II: Total War Collection released for Linux & SteamOS

Good, I always like when older games like this or kotor 2 gets ported, that onky shows how awesome all those porters are. Btw, I wonder witch gl version is this using since it requires mesa 11.2.
Overall, keep coming good games to linux, no matter how old it is, I know I will spend many hours on this game and I hope I will buy the dlc soon.

This looks like one of those ports than are done for the love of the game and not mainly for the money they could get. It's great to have this game on the platform.

Supported core profile versions range from 3.2 to (today) 4.5. Cards/drivers that don't support 3.2 will currently fall back to the legacy GL renderer.
Thanks for the info, that answer my question. But I read in the blog than gl 2.1 support was planned to be dropped in the next unity 5.4 version, so I guess than for that time that old hardware will stop being supported.
And it's good to read than on linux, games can use features from newer gl versions when possible, so it's not limited to the mac 4.1 gl version. That is a nice improvement.

but overall looks like a great update with a lot of new features, but still buggy for what I have read.

I have been waiting for a port of worms world party (now than there is a remastered version on steam), but I guess than now I'm interested on this one too, since it offers some cool stuff.
And yes, I have heard that voice before, I wonder if I can ask him here to say something on his cool voice lol.

Feral about AMD driver support
6 Dec 2015 at 5:19 pm UTC Likes: 3

In other words, Feral is the 1st company ever developing GL 4.2-5 AAA games on linux, so thats why they find many untested code on the drivers, and that means bugs. I hope Feral will start supporting Vulkan on their future games the 1st second after its launched.

Speculation: It looks like the Saints Row series will all launch together on SteamOS & Linux
4 Dec 2015 at 6:45 pm UTC

Depots on SR 2 & 3 (virtual programming)

Saints Row 2 Port Data
Saints Row 2 Port Linux
Saints Row 2 Port Mac

Saints Row: The Third Port Data
Saints Row: The Third Port OS X
Saints Row: The Third Port Linux

Depots on SR 4 & GOH

Saints Row IV Linux
Saints Row IV OS X

Saints Row: Gat out of Hell OSX
Saints Row: Gat out of Hell Linux

Can you see the pattern? VP include the word "Port" on their depots, and also the "Data" depot, so if I had to speculate, I would conclude than the ports of the newer games are being done by different people.

Linux is holding exactly where we thought it would in the Steam Hardware Survey
3 Dec 2015 at 1:24 am UTC

Do we have any reason to think than this will change? Exactly. That 1% won't change anytime soon, unless linux start becoming a better product for normal users, something than currently is not, even if it has the potential.
Regardless of what will happen, I will keep using it since I like to follow its progress.
