I (of course) want to see that game ported, but I would like to see it running on Vulkan, on opengl we already know we are going to loose at least 25% of the performance.
I would prefer than this refer to an older game like dishonored where performance isnt that important anymore.

so thats not a console anymore, the point of the steam machines is than it allow the user to enjoy the benefits of a pc on the couch. Still, afaik there is the option to start steam in big picture mode once windows is turned on, but on windows you will need to use a mouse and keyboard more than once for driver installation and other things than SteamOS is able to do by itself.

So valve finally released their tool to avoid being dependent of whatever microsoft may do with their platform. Valve doesn't even need it to be successful, just with the fact of existing is something that allow gaben to sleep well at night. Im sure than he is happy even with the current 1%.

But in the long term, I think than valve will keep pushing the platform and it will become a great one, offering an interesting product to the market. The 1st step is vulkan, the 2nd step is still to be seen.

It was already known than it was coming on Q2 2016, since xcom 2 is coming in february, and batman ak has been marked as coming after that one. At least now it's official.

This is great news, those guys at Feral are awesome, and everyone claims than the port is solid.
btw, does it fair to compare the game with a windows version played on another pc? maybe the cpu matters or whatever.

This game is being optimized for the steam controller, so maybe if they are so involved with valve they may create a linux port. But lets remember than on the steam community they said time ago than they didnt had planned any linux or mac version at the moment.
