Steam Beta for March 4 brings Game Notes via the web and 8BitDo Micro support

8bitdo is a really, REALLY bad gamepad.
They've made more than one gamepad, you know?

Personally I've been getting a lot of mileage out of their excellent controllers. My next gamepad is most likely going to be another 8BitDo when my current Pro 2 dies some day. I'll leave latency measurements to those who play competitive fighting games, but seems like the newer 8BitDo pads are pretty good on that front anyway.

I remember back in the 2000's, they had Red Flag Linux but it didn't take off and based on what mphuZ said, it looks like they're going to use HarmonyOS NEXT now.
I think you're forgetting Kylin Linux, which is already the official OS of the Chinese government, and if Wikipedia is to be believed, "ships pre-installed on most computers sold in China". But apparently they do all their gaming on Windows.

March 25 reminder - GamingOnLinux needs your support

I understand your reasons and fully support your decisions but unfortunately it excludes those of us that don't do social media.
I'm in the same boat, but I'd have made the same call if I were in Liam's shoes. A hobby is one thing to risk, but GOL is his livelihood. It's a shame in any case.

Linux GPU Configuration Tool (LACT) upgrades NVIDIA clockspeed configuration

I used another tool, WattmanGTK I think, to undervolt my old MSI brand RX 580, because that was the only way to make it stop overheating and dying. Don't see why I'd want to mess with my current hardware as it's running beautifully.

This is a genuinely good (and challenging) puzzle game, and so is the bigger and fancier "A Monster's Expedition" from the same dev. Easily worth a few °C.

Been in a few bundles though, I think.

Indie devs have begun adding a no generative AI stamp to their store pages

Most of the AI models I am aware of used scrapers to collect openly accessible texts/images etc. If that's even illegal under current law is a different question.
Legality aside, in my opinion this is only ethical if openly accessible means public domain or otherwise permissively licenced work.

In any case, I'll just do my best to avoid using this tech until these important questions are addressed to my satisfaction. And if any future laws or regulations make it harder to make money off of LLM tech or off products created using them, I can live with that. My employer won't be happy, but I can live with that too.

So many people missing the whole point here. Or commenting based on the title, more likely.

The technology isn't being targeted here. This is specifically about current generative "AI" products being trained on material without original artists' permission, because that's pretty much the only way to source a large enough set of high quality source material. That's what artists, writers and other copyright owners object to. And I tend to agree with them. Ends do not justify the means.

If someone searches on Google and the summary given by Gemini is correct, and they use it, they'll have used GenAI...
Then how about not including that AI-generated summary in your game?

Again, all it might prevent you from doing is using this badge to promote your game. I'd say "you don't get to have your cake and eat it too", but this is barely a cake. There's no need to be dramatic.

This is just something a bunch of indie devs proud of their work have come up with to promote the fact that they don't take shortcuts at the potential cost of using someone else's IP without permission.

Would this void the use of this badge?
If you use generative AI, you don't get to display this badge. Seems clear enough to me. This is specifically about the use of generative AI, not quality or anything else. I don't see why you'd go looking for loopholes.

Linux Mint 22.1 'Xia' is out now with improved Wayland support

Mint XFCE. I have this weird bug where the network icon in the panel just sort of disappears and won't come back.
When this happens, try hitting alt+f2 for the appfinder and type in `nm-applet`. Sounds like the network manager applet (tray icon) process is crashing for some reason, and that should bring it back.

I haven't seen this problem on Mint Xfce machines I administer, for what that's worth. Is this a fresh install or did you upgrade from an older Mint?
