Wrong question it should of been when will they start making games again ?
They did announce several new games in the pipeline a couple of months back. Did you already forget?

The Steam Linux market share for June was 0.52% as Steam is still growing rather rapidly

Quoting: Purple Library GuySo why the hell aren't they fixing it up? Same goes for a place like Iran--educated population, plenty good reasons not to be dependent on US software, source is open, what's the problem?
In short, I understand that Linux is in many places not that polished for the desktop, but why not?!
Good old chicken and egg. Their community isn't big enough to ease the way for a local community to form. It takes the blood and sweat of enthusiastic hobbyists to get things to the point where the larger public might feel comfortable joining in. Often these hobbyists might be university students with time on their hands, but that requires a cultural, political and social atmosphere that is not downright hostile.

EDIT: This isn't about Iran specifically. I actually saw a small but healthy Farsi localization community years ago, back when I was active in the i18n efforts of a few FOSS projects. The Middle East has changed a lot since then of course.

Quoting: Sudo_halttrash calendar support (dont even get me started)
Well now I'm curious.
I assume he means that support for the persian calendar used in Iran and Afganistan is lacking under Linux. I see a couple of dedicated calendar applications like Gahshomar [External Link] but I wouldn't know how well they integrate into the OS. I also see a Thunderbird persian calendar plugin and apparently Google calendar has support as well. But again, no first-hand experience.

Desperados - Wanted Dead or Alive has been updated with official Linux support

Quoting: slaapliedjeIt'd be nice if there were more games that 'you bought this in Steam, here's your copy in GOG' out there. Seems they did a few, then never really added more.
They usually have some games in GOG Connect [External Link] during sales, but only temporarily. There's usually a banner on the shop front page when that's the case, but I think they just want you to keep checking.

Football and tactical RPG mix 'Ganbare! Super Strikers' to release July 26th, new trailer

Looks surprisingly fun! Waiting to hear a bit more about how the RPG side of the game works. Hopefully it's not just about leveling up your players, but there's some progression to keep it interesting.

Do people actually use Lutris as a launcher for native games?

The Humble DRM-Freedom Sale is live, plenty of Linux titles available
2 Jul 2018 at 7:46 pm UTC

I'm glad I was waiting until the last moment until deciding on my Steam summer sale picks. Even disregarding the added benefit of the DRM-free build and the kickback for GOL, some of the deals are actually better. Like Opus Magnum 13.11€ on Humble and 14.99€ on Steam, Slime Rancher 10.49€ vs 11.99€, and Tacoma 8.99€ vs 9.99€. Depends on region I'm sure, but worth checking out.

Quoting: GustyGhost30, 40, 50 are only significant because we use a base 10 system. If humans had only eight fingers or fourteen fingers we might find significant birthdays to land instead on 16, 24, 32 or on 14, 28, 42 respectively. It is amazing how we are able to mentally compartmentalize sets of years as though being 39 years and 360 days is any different from being 40 years and 2 days, for example.

Mesa now supports OpenGL 4.4 Compatibility Profile for radeonsi

Quoting: soulsourceNext up: Firefox gets support for MSIE 5 CSS box model implementation and MSIE 6 Quirks Mode.

Sorry, but imho software using compatibility profiles should be fixed to use non-deprecated API functions. Exposing that functionality in the graphics driver just encourages developers to write code that uses it, what most likely means bad code.
Sad as you might find it, I doubt many game devs choose their tools based on what radeonsi supports or doesn't support. Your joke/analogue would make more sense if it had anywhere near the market penetration of Firefox.
