Overwatch 2 becomes the worst user-reviewed game on Steam
14 Aug 2023 at 4:19 pm UTC Likes: 2

The WORST thing are butthurt users that can't get over the previous version of a game. You get a lot of that whenever a "2" comes out. A new player might like 2 better, but existing players may prefer the older, even more rudimentary version. The new one won't have the same "feel" or high enough difficulty for pimple wizards, or something.

In this case, they took the old one AWAY, so fair dues.

Free to Play = No recourse for the user at all. Review bombing is all there is.

Quoting: kuhpunktDo you know how large those "quantities" even are?
Large enough for an announcement and a dedicated web page to sell them?
Which might just be a few hundred or thousand. What else are you gonna do with them? Throw them away?
How about you tell me something you know?

I've got to say, that Ken Follet's The Pillars of the Earth is gorgeous comic book-like art. I'm not normally a fan of that "hand drawn" look (whether actually hand drawn or not), with reduced colour palette but this looks superb. There are some good looking cartoon faces too.

Point and click navigation, with conversation choices and things you have to do, like click on objects and set them on things etc. I'm going to enjoy directing that story, I think.

So get your $2 out if you like these kinds of games, this one is well worth the download :-)

Quoting: Liam DaweThis is perfectly normal for quite literally any hardware. There’s really nothing to look deeper into.
I suppose so. It's the time frame that made me say that though, it doesn't seem that long ago that you'd be a lucky winner to be able to even get a Steam Deck.

Hmmm... that doesn't bode well that there are quantities of "refurbished" Steam Decks already.

1) People not happy and returning them
2) Returns of defective units, repaired.

I watched a really good "miniseries" of Pillars of the Earth. It had Ian McShane as the evil, ambitious bishop. Very good quality production and acting etc. I was glued to all 8 episodes.

It's not my genre either, but I think I'm going to grab that game for $2

NVK the open source Vulkan driver for NVIDIA merged into Mesa

Good news for the future, perhaps soon the day will come that you can play games with only Nouveau and NVK, eliminating that whole Nvidia boat anchor.

(That always used to hold me back and get me in way over my head when upgrading kernels, when the Nvidia glue won't compile and you have to wait for them to fix it for the new kernel... I would never go back to that but if kernel and Mesa support for Nvidia got as good as support for AMD cards, I'd consider it again)

I've had that game since 2018 when I played most games in Windows and it was the last thing I bought from them (because of Uplay). Finally getting some use out of that Arcade Mode again

(That's a game mode where you play user created maps in Outpost, Assault or Journey game modes. Some of them are quite sophisticated, better than anything in the main game)

Well, Glorious Eggroll is no slouch, there's a new one (7 hours old) you can extract and drop in.

These are builds intended for Lutris.

On my system, the location to put that in would be

$HOME/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine

I've also heard of it being somewhere like

$HOME/.var/app/net.lutris.Lutris/data/lutris/runners/wine <--- Steam Deck, PopOS! (probably fatpacks)
