Quoting: ElectricPrismYeah No. Unreal Engine is a deal breaker because Source Games have details that are mathematically authentically Valve suchas the lighting flicker interval and variations, mathematical interval variations of electrical shocks, sounds, and other content."While the code was indeed used in many Valve games, it actually predates the company. The flickering light effect was likely written by none other than John Carmack for “Quake” in 1996. That was part of a library of flickering presets compiled by John Romero in 1993 while working on “DoomED”:"

Quoting: PhlebiacWikipedia doesn't provide any background info, but the developer and the publisher are one and the same. Perhaps Agustin had a falling out with Alejandro; wouldn't be the first time game IP was the victim of feuding founders.Dang, if true, that would be very sad

Pity about Scratches. Something happened between the developer and the publisher so it's no longer for sale. When I wanted to play it a couple of years back the developer more or less just told people to pirate the game...
Hope they have better luck with Asylum!

Quoting: ShmerlThat's not an answer really. Just feels like running around the issue. Why can't they release it on GOG?The Selaco developers tried, but they have been ignored by GOG over and over:

Windows to Linux compatibility layer Wine 10.0 planned for mid-January 2025

(Interesting. I had no idea Wine used to run everything with elevated rights, at least from a Windows perspective!)

Quoting: syylkThis could be very important considering the Squirrel installer *requires* non-elevated privileges to install its payload, and would stop if run as Administrator - like all software running under WINE is.The original bug for this issue does mention Squirrel installers so I guess those should work in Wine 9.4+ (when this was implemented).

Quoting: PyrateHow long does it usually take for Proton to upgrade major versions of Wine?About 3.5 months between Wine 9.0 and Proton 9.0 unless I'm mistaken.
