Trackline Express is a quirky, funny and unique journey

That was surprisingly fun! At first I was a bit miffed, because the demo felt like 15 minutes of play, but I apparently spent well over an hour with the game.

I really enjoyed Haven Park too. Considering I got it for free I feel I owe the developer a little something so I'll
probably end up buying this one.

Wonder if the developer is Australian? Escaping from wildfires, an environment that will kill you if you stray too far, the ability to pick up and throw sheep!?

I'm only in it for the golden egg and the Deck lottery.

I figure with a €1 egg my chance of winning goes from zilch to infinitesimally small. Buying a second, third, or even twenty eggs would still put me in the infinitesimally small bracket of winning, so I stopped there.

Even if I don't win I either get the joy of a random new game, or the joy of giving away the game to someone else!

Now Pengling, you seem to be doing exceptionally well at these, so don't go nicking the Deck too, that one is mine!

Factorio devs detail their 'Linux adventures' in a new blog post

Quoting: slembckeHuh, so one nice thing about SDL is that it mostly "just works". Why did they need to add the Wayland protocols into their source tree, and link with libdecor themselves? I predominantly test my SDL stuff on Wayland and I've never had to even think about that. Is it because they are statically linking maybe?
I only skimmed the post, but I think these were all issues involving compiling SDL from scratch. Not compiling the game against SDL.

At least the libdecor issue becomes mostly moot unless you hobble yourself with a castrated version of SDL.

Not sure why they link statically though. SDL still advises against doing so.

Descent 3 has been made open source

Interplay okayed Icculus to release his changes! That'll bring the Linux port right up to speed. Guess the Windows boffins need to port over those changes for a more modern Descent 3 experience on their end.

Licensing is confusing again, not sure if we'll end up with two Descent 3 source releases, one GPL and one MIT?

Quoting: Purple Library GuyOne thing to keep in mind is, I bet a lot of those characters are not just copyrighted, but trademarked. And the thing about trademarks is, if you don't maintain them by stopping people from using them, you can lose them. This can push companies to behaviours even more annoying than they would instinctively do on their own.
I don't think that applies here.

You're probably thinking of genericization a trademarked name becoming a generic term. Should the trademark holder do nothing to prevent that they might lose the trademark.

Streaming possibly? Extra hits for your YouTube channel?

Someone actually created a Sorcerer map for Mudrunner! The trailer is pretty cool with the original movie soundtrack.

It's a pity that the editor doesn't seem to make it possible to use custom assets, to create a proper jungle....

No Wages of Fear map sadly
