Looks cool, do you know if you get a Steam key for purchasing the early bird copy?

This seems slightly iffy, but I'm sure it will work itself out. And worse case, Valve will probably have to pay a fine, which, let's be honest, isn't really going to hurt them.

Looks very interesting.
My concerns are:
- They plan not to support modding (not a deal breaker, but may limit longevity)
- There doesn't seem to be any plans for a singleplayer mode, which would be a nice QoL improvement for when you dont want to play with randoms (you'll always get trolls and whatnot in online games, and sometimes you get waves of them).
Otherwise it does look cool, so I might give it a shot later.

This further reduces my likelihood of buying Atomic Heart. Not a good move at all.

Proton is improving at a nice and steady rate, always good to see.
What would be really cool is to see game developers getting a bit more involved, whether that be enabling anti-cheat support or cooperating with Valve to try and get their games working as well as possible.

I've been loving the later AMD graphics cards, way better performance on Linux when compared to their NVIDIA counterparts (not that NVIDIA cards dont work very well these days).
Also AMD seems a lot more commited to Linux and open-source than NVIDIA, so ATM at least I would rather support them.

I will have to give this a go. OBS has always worked *fairly* well on Linux, but I have had all kinds of issues with certain non-standard functionality such as virtual cameras in the past.
Ubisoft just broke their games on Linux desktop and Steam Deck

How is it that Valve is fixing these issues so quickly and the developers (of certain companies ofc), who you would expect to test Proton support at least in passing, are managing to completely break things?

Biggest patch I've seen in a while for the Steam Client. Might actually get a controller to test out the new big picture mode on desktop.
