Quoting: jensDoes anybody knows what gave the push for KDE? I mean looking a bit from the outside, I would say Gnome Desktop seems more suitable for such a form factor incl. touch input.. or is the display without touch input?

(Just to be sure, I’m really not interested in opinions why KDE is better than Gnome or any other desktop or vice versa, that’s highly subjective, I’m just genuine interested in Valves thoughts and reasonings)
That's easy. KDE look and works more like Windows than Gnome does, so anyone that's not familiar with anything else will feel at home using it.

Quoting: EssemI'm kind of confused in regards to how it was verified when the game doesn't seem to work out of the box.
Verified for Deck, which is different to all the distros on desktop.
That's fair, I do wonder what they've done differently on the Deck to make it run however.
Valve probably selects correct Proton version for you automatically so that you don't have to make the kind of tweaks you would do on a regular distro.

Quoting: GuestGot the chance to try it now as well and it looks good, no glitches, it just works!
I'm reading more and more "it just works!" when people discuss Linux on the desktop and gaming on Linux and it's super encouraging for the future of it's adoption. Really cool.
