Get ready to be scared again as Layers of Fear: Inheritance DLC has been announced

Hopefully it hits GOG at some point. I still haven't played the main game much yet as I can't max it out with a minimum of 60 FPS yet so I am waiting until I can.

I have loved all of their games. I own a bunch of them but I would rather focus my money and resources on DRM free. Great games for any visual novel fans who don't mind DRM.

Quoting: Shmerl
Quoting: PublicNuisanceI am really interested in this game, waiting to hear back from the devs if there will be a DRM free option.

From the campaign FAQ:

QuoteWe plan on selling the game via online platforms such as Steam and GoG, as well as the Apple App Store for Mac. Backers of our Kickstarters may have access to direct download.

Thank you. I missed that. The developers got back to me as well. Tried the demo and enjoyed it. They have my pledge.

Nightdive Studios aren't sure when the Linux version of the System Shock remake will be available

Well this attitude is certainly not what I was hoping for from Nightdive. I guess it is good they are being open and honest now instead of later.

System Shock remake heads to Kickstarter, Linux is the first stretch-goal
29 June 2016 at 4:30 pm UTC

Quoting: EhvisPlatforms as a stretch goal is a weird idea. You can't support the stretch goal individually, but if the project is funded without making the stretch goal, you can't get your money back either. Of course, that the case with every stretch goal, but in this case you're effectively left with nothing.

One could do what I am doing. If the stretch goal isn't reached by the last day I can cancel my pledge and not pay a dime. However until then they are $30 closer to that stretch goal with my pledge.

When should i386 support for Ubuntu end? Help Canonical decide

In my opinion 32 bit support should have died back in 2005. We have had 64 bit CPUs and operating systems for ages but they haven't killed off support yet. Think of the progress that could have been made elsewhere if resources and money weren't allocated to 32 bit support ?

AMD RX 480 released, AMD will possibly open up Radeon Software

I am liking what I see about the RX 480. I am going to be selling my GTX 960 for one. I am waiting for the aftermarket cards to come out though. I don't buy those crappy reference blower cards for Nvidia or AMD. Waiting for an XFX DD version, an Asus Strix version, an MSI Twin Frozr or an MSI Lightning version. Hopefully I don't have to wait long.

System Shock remake heads to Kickstarter, Linux is the first stretch-goal

I backed the game earlier tonight. I will cancel my backing if the Linux stretch goal isn't met by the last day. That is my plan. I would prefer that Linux was a higher priority to them. I wish that there had of been a Linux version of the demo. However I can't ignore the fact that I enjoyed the demo, that I think this will be a good game and that they say they are willing to make a Linux version if a goal is met.

My main concern is that they have brought 28 of their 44 games on Steam to Linux but only 4 of their 13 games on GOG to Linux. Doesn't make me very comfortable as a DRM free buyer.
