Yeah I had to uninstall until they fix bugs and don't have 3gb updates every day over my 6mbps DSL. Refunded for now. Hopefully they get their poop together so they can again have my money.

I suspect the quick fix turn-around has a lot to do with SteamOS. Of course, the fact it existed to begin with shows the low install base of SteamOS.

It's less unique 11 years after it was released. At the time it was much more of a marvel. It's still a great game, but it's been done arguably better since, with newer tech.

The argument about using assets you don't own is silly. If you release a game on Steam and you use an engine or assets you didn't pay for, then you run into the same problem.

Don't do it so you don't get sued... or if you do, make your mod free. Making it possible to get paid for them doesn't mean you have to.

HadBabitsMeh, a bit of fun, but the gameplay is way too simple to justify spending any money on it.

I think the gameplay is mostly in finding new, more efficient ways of building defensively and offensively. I've had a lot of fun playing it so far. That being said, I haven't spent a penny on it, and don't see myself doing so.

The biggest problem I have had is frequent disconnects in the battles. Seems a lot smoother today. Here's to hoping they include more interesting game modes, though.

Oh yeah and often the linux version isn't available until after sales are over or near-over. So are the percentages in dollars or units?

The other thing that skews stats is people like me who will buy a game on win, with the promise of a linux version, and play it initially on windows until the linux version is out; Then I will play exclusively on linux. I don't do this any more, as I have been burned a few times now (usually due to owning 2 monitors). My wintendo is much less capable, so I much prefer native linux.

My hypothesis is that releasing a stable Linux build when releasing the main game is probably one of the leading factors in sales percentage discrepancy. Having to wait 2-3 months to get it on another platform, the hype has largely died down. This also makes the stats really hard to take as non-skewed. It would be interesting to correlate other stats such as time-from-release-to-linux, platform feature parity, and as pathetic as it is something like metascore, as all of these things affect initial sales.

And yes, totally getting rust. the attitude.
