Escape Simulator drops the Linux build to focus on supporting Proton

Let me translate it:

"We dont wanna bother anymore with a Native Port so just use Proton k thx bye."

Maybe they are just bad at making a good native port not sure, but i have ton of Native Games which are quite old already and still work perfectly without any issues. And "as a small team" excuse doesnt really count if a lot of Indie Games can manage a perfectly fine Native port.

Shame to see yet another game going the Proton route. And sure it "just works" but i still keep on preferring Native ports over Proton.

Depending on the reviews, how it performs on Linux and how much of an improvement it is to the RX6600 i might go for a Intel card. But i guess only time will tell.

Good to see that they dont cut of Native support like they hinted at, at one point. I dont care if it runs better with Proton. If i hit 60FPS and with Proton 120FPS as an example i'll stick to the native version. Simply because i prefer my games native, yes even if i have to do trouble-shooting with missing dependencies or whatnot.

Quoting: dziadulewiczMaybe one day they start consider potential Linux customers first class customers and release the official client. Never bought anything from GOG during all these years because obviously they don't need our monys. And there is always Collection Chamber.

Eh, they are affiliated with the Heroic Games Launcher so thats pretty much as "official" as it gets when it comes to the client i guess.

Personally i'll keep buying my games on GOG , ZOOM , Itch and so on. I just prefer my games DRM-Free.
