Google reveal Stadia will only have 12 games available at launch, more later in the year

For multiplayer games the input depends on how much the server is willing to trust the client data. For services like Stadia the input lag should be well known and quite predictable. Remember that the communication delay is only in single direction. If you send a ping message then the input lag is half that. On a good internet connection that would equal well above 60fps. In gaming terms this problem is actually a variation of rubber banding.
It is the same for single player games if the update frequency is low (which is likely the case if you run a game with 4k + HDR). A game running as a slide show is usually uncontrollable because of input lag.
With on-line streaming services it should actually be possible to reduce input lag just because the simple fact that the fps is high. Then you also get the benefit of much more storage for cut scenes in high quality. There is a possibility of a much more advance AI. The benefit of much easier server programming which hopefully could help the indie market. Also the thing google were talking about which will allow people to pick up from someone else stream sounds like an interesting concept.
I don't mind if the streaming market will become successful but what google has presented so far leaves a lot to wish for. Also, I would be surprised if at launch, everything will be working smoothly. I don't think they will reach the level of what is potentiality possible with today's hardware. It will take a while.

Quoting: YoRHa-2BIt is not as simple as that. You have input lag in all games.Quoting: DonkeyWith the lack of content presented so far it looks more and more like this project will fail. I hope it will not since it could add so many positive technical things to the gaming industry.I disagree. I mean yes, it has some genuine advantages for multiplayer games since cheating should be impossible and there's going to no unreliable client<>server or client<>client sync (but in exchange you get input lag), and people don't have to pay the high entry fee for a console or gaming PC, but that's about where the advantages for the consumer end.

There are two things which could have made Stadia very interesting:
1) Access to all games without having to buy individual titles, as most other streaming services.
2) Te ability to play any game available on your Steam account. (Steam client & games running through Stadia).
With the lack of content presented so far it looks more and more like this project will fail. I hope it will not since it could add so many positive technical things to the gaming industry.
It will be interesting to see how the future will develop, for Stadia and for similar competing services.

I could not resist trying it out. The menus are much more smooth with Vulkan and it does make a huge impact in the benchmark. Maybe it is hight time to finish the game now ;)

It "sounds" like a really cool thing to play around with and I can imagine it being valuable for game developers as well. If only I had a few minutes over for testing it.

Quoting: LilaTequilaHi all,It is possible to play it with two players co-op and it is very enjoyable to do so! I have seen two person play it on a shared laptop keyboard and they were doing just fine regardless of keyboard ghosting and that they had some confusion which keys were controlling what :). I have played it on a desktop computer were one person was using a keyboard and the other was using a steam controller.
is it playable with two players co-op, or is it only doable at 4 ?
Thanks
Bridge Constructor Portal released with same-day Linux support, some thoughts

Bought it and enjoyed playing it. At level 13 I tried to build a cable-stayed bridge just for fun but it turned out that the support beams used to construct the towers couldn't handle the weight of the bridge itself. The game is entertaining to play and the simple mechanisms makes it easy to get into. After finishing a level it is hard to resist the temptation of just doing one more level. :)

If it is Tomb Raider after an easy guess, then that could indicate that the release is imminent.

I really liked the new blizzard level. It's so much fun and flying through those accelerators gives both a speed thrill and it also brings a new depth of complexity to the game. I once managed to chased down a robot who was trying to hide from me by taking the shortcut through the accelerator and by coming out just beside the bot took it by complete surprise.
The time bomb was super cool as well. The new features almost makes the Overload a 7- or 8-degree-of-freedom. Getting updates like this every month or so keeps the game alive. Even though the game does not contain a full campaign right now and if it was released today I would still consider it as a full game just from the challenge levels. That's how good the implementation is.

I'm not much for grinding but truth to tell, most games are based on it. Click a few buttons kill an enemy, go to the next enemy and repeat...
I might give this game a spin depending on the quality of the live stream ;)

I'm not much for racing games but since it was actually kind of fun to play and the price was cheaper than dirt I just had to have it in my library permanently. Thumbs up to Feral for porting so many nice games for our pleasure. :)
Due to AMD not being officially supported I got the warning sign when starting the game but it I experienced zero performance problems once the game was running.
