GamingOnLinux GOTY Section & Nominations Now Open

Quoting: liamdawe
Quoting: minjYou should use a 'masonry' display so that more items could be displayed at one time. Now I have to open all tabs to search for a title
Adjusted it to be in 3 columns, and upped the count. Should make finding a game easier.

Quoting: KelsWhy does Dreamfall Chapters have two entries? Far as I know, only one game is released so far.
There will be errors now and then with duplicate approvals if they are named slightly differently. Stuff happens.
Looks nice. Now the only thing lacking is a counter for the total number of entries.

So little time, and yet so many games left to play.
Great initiative! Looking forward to vote and final results. :)

Speculation: BioShock Infinite Might Be an eON port

Quoting: frostworkI neither understand the bad vibrations around eon, nor the hype about this nonsense irc discussion. I was live in the irc channel when this was "discussed" and must say that they would have better spent some time in supporting newbies or hacking some code...
I don't mind eON at all. What I do mind is the abysmal performance I get with The Witcher 2. If I get a demo of a game working using the same platform with really good performance, I might consider buying the game regardless if it is using eON. If they manage to fix the performance of The Witcher 2 I might consider buying any future game released using eON as a platform.

Porting Civilization: Beyond Earth, Dev Update 6 From Aspyr Media (UPDATED)
4 Dec 2014 at 11:35 am UTC

Hopefully they manage a release for all hardware before Christmas. Every vendor implements OpenGL differently, both in hardware and software, so it's not much of a surprise if they're having some trouble. A big thank you to Aspyr for letting us know in advance.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Confirmed For Linux

Looking at the Sierra [External Link] home page, another Aspyr related game might be King's Quest. Could it be that Sierra is a Linux friendly publisher? "Looking forward to serve bad porridge to evil wizards".

Did someone mention Aspyr! On my wish-list :D

Looks like a game which would work great with a Steam controller. Relaxed and laid-back positioning, legs on the table and a steam controller in a tight grip and a few hours of fun game play.

TinyKeep Dungeon Crawler Linux Version Released, It's Good

It looks interesting. I would have preferred an inventory and item collection as part of the game. Put it on my wishlist for now.

Legend Of Grimrock 2 On Linux Is Uncertain
18 Nov 2014 at 10:45 pm UTC

I was planning on buying two copies at full price when a native version was released because I really liked the first instalment. During the development they said they would consider porting after the release. If they are still undecided/uncertain even after the game had its release...then the only thing I can say is this; They just went down a notch on my (Linux) reputation scale. "No Tux, no bux".

It is easy to wait when you know you are going to get a good quality release.

Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition Now Out For Linux

I bought it from gog because it was cheaper than Steam. Depending how well it works will be decisive for me on how much money I would like to spend on the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition.
