Quoting: whizseThat fixed the softlock bug, however music is still playing where it shouldn't so far. I can't even hear the doc's voice over the loud music, and there should be no music in the tutorial section.Quoting: WMan22The bad news is: Everything regarding cutscenes continuing is broken, like everything renders correctly (except the HUD) but the dialogue doesn't continue and menu music plays where it shouldn't. Don't know if this is an issue with the game or an issue with proton, but either way MDK 2 HD is still unplayable.Have you tried with native xact as per the ProtonDB entry?

I basically bolted over to my steam library to go see if MDK 2 was finally fixed after reading this, that was one of THE games I actually felt like I gave up going to linux.
The good news is: Yes, they did fix the black texturing issues in MDK 2 HD! Yay!

Also, MDK 2 Classic has not benefitted from the Mesa patches as far as I'm aware, as it still starts up with a black screen.
One day... One day it will work. We're at least closer.

Valve posted a statement on the New York lootbox lawsuit

On one hand, how valve does lootboxes is one of my only legitimate complaints with them, and them losing this lawsuit would lead to positive changes in the industry.
But then the New York office makes me opposed to them losing this by default because they bundled the win condition with ID verification. So I hope New York loses, because I hate ID verification normalization more than I hate lootboxes, ESPECIALLY as a Californian that's unsure if I'll be kicked out of using linux distros I want next year cause of the boneheaded, technologically ignorant decrepit boomer decisions of people I didn't even vote for.

This is gonna suck because there is no other platform that is as fully featured as discord is. Trust me, I really looked. [External Link] It's always lacking some essential feature that is used regularly, like streaming, embedding youtube videos and file uploads, long term message history, etc.
Sure do hate that so many communities decided they were too good for classic forums and decided to centralize all their valuable information on a non-open internet searchable IRC. There is information about game engine development I can ONLY find on discord.
Wish Valve would hire a team to improve the group chat feature on Steam to give it feature parity with discord.

Insanely useful feature, means the one downside of using Vesktop over regular Discord is gone now. Hope there's toggle functionality and also "push to mute" functionality where the mic has default behavior of being always on except when you're holding a button.
Draft code submitted to KDE Plasma turns it into a full VR desktop

Absolutely love to see it. Virtual desktops and overlay applications are a highly under-represented and underrated feature of VR, back when I was on windows, I would often pick one of the coziest spots I could find in VRChat to watch a movie. Hell, I watched Serial Experiments Lain in a room modeled after Lain's room.
Some would call this a novelty, I disagree, it would increase immersion like 10 fold if it weren't for the weight of my valve index on my face, so I'd often settle for 5 fold instead. Still an upgrade in overall mood and atmosphere of whatever I was watching.

@R Daneel Olivaw
I use it as a WINE manager for abandonware games, because it is the only wine manager GUI I know of that has easy access to a 2 click full backup into a zip, hence why I use it despite my general dislike of GTK+Adwaita as a theming framework as a KDE user myself. I wish more wine GUI managers had that, heck, if Lutris or Heroic Games Launcher got that feature I'd probably never install bottles again, especially since Bottles Next is gonna be moving to Electron, and like I'm not gonna hold my breath for Unreal Engine 5 to have a truly well optimized game, I'm not gonna hold my breath for an electron app to run well or be not buggy.
