Using a Steam Deck to control a Ukrainian automatic turret, now I've seen it all

Quoting: MatomboAgreed, its really no laughing matter. I´m all for Ukrainians utilizing what ever they can to defend themselves, but most Russian soldiers are probaply victims of propaganda, thinking they´re fighting for a just cause. While deaths on both sides may not be equaly tragic, they are tragedies nonetheless.Quoting: Purple Library GuyThis, a Russian Soldier is still a Human and not an Orc, regardless of how unjust the war is he is fighting in.Quoting: rustybroomhandleThey're perfectly ordinary people, just like the American armies that invaded Iraq and Afghanistan and are still occupying part of Syria are made up of perfectly ordinary people.Quoting: miroWhat the actual fuq?Are you suggesting we treat the Russian invading army of genocidal psychopaths with respect?
Is this for real? You do know that this is designed to kill people, not in a cs-fashion but for real. And all with the currently f'ed up narrative and politics, you are cracking jokes with it.
I can not believe this, what a shame.
I really think there should be a line drawn between saying "Russian foreign policy is fucked up" and being racist about Russians.

Valve doesn't need much to make a Steam Deck 2 a huge success

Right now I´d pay premium money for a simple Steam Deck 1.5 with:
- OLED Screen
- 2280 m.2 Slot
- Second USB-C port
- Easier exchangable battery
- A backplate with a built-in Deckmate connector
So of course these things would also be high on my wishlist for a Steam Deck 2. I also hope they stick with 800p as I don´t see the benefits of higher resolutions outwheigh the drawbacks anytime soon, unless there are some major jumps in technology. Apart from that, the topic of resolution turned out to be a fast and reliable way to determine if a reviewer knows what hes talking about or not, so thats a boon

When I finally managed to load the livechat (never got to see the actual stream), the Milf Hunter win-message was the first thing I´ve got to see... so yes: I was there when the legend was born!

I´m having a problem with the controls not working in AC Valhalla whenever the Deck wakes up from sleep. Since the game always takes ages to start/restart, this really kills a lot of enjoyment for me. Anybody else having similar problems? Using Proton 7.0.5 right now, but I´m gonna try out some other versions later today.

@linuxjacques: There are ways to get around the time limit so yeah, Valve probably wanted to step in before someone tries out the Lord of the Rings Extended Cut Trilogy or the complete MCU ;)
@Termy & 1xok: Would be very interresting to know if they updated to a newer Delta without the whine. Valve should communicate much more openly about this topic. Whenever friends asked me if I can recommend the Deck, I always had to be honest that I don´t know if there still is a risk of getting a whiny fan.
I hope we´ll see some testing with the new foam solution soon.

I´m a bit shocked they are still shipping Steam Decks with Delta fans... and I really hope this change will fix the noise for future buyers.
Just yesterday I ordered a replacement fan, because the ugly noise is killing a lot of the joy out of this otherwise awesome device. Meaning I had to pay an extra 25€ for the fan and will have to open it up and fiddle around, hoping not to break anything, wich is not a good experience for a 670€ product.
I am personally only mildly pissed about this, because the anticipation of some early-adopter-problems was part of my preorder-decision (I managed to pre-order within the first few minutes and was lucky to get my order-email with the second batch)... but reading that they are still shipping Decks with Delta to this day is astonishing.

The JSAUX M.2 Docking Station for Steam Deck is a great choice

Would it be possible to have a full OS (Windows) running on the Dock-M.2, connect two monitors and have it all run somewhat useable for non-gaming-purposes? I doubt this will be possible over the single USB-C on the Deck, but I lack any serious experience on this topic.
More I/O is very high on my wishlist for a Steam Deck 2. To this day I´m still amazed by the amount of ports my little old GPD Win 1 had

Quoting: SupayPerfect, thanks! :heart:Quoting: RavenWingsDamn, they all are just so great! Can I just put em all in a folder and have the Deck choose one at random? That would increase my average daily happiness by at least 10% :grin:There is indeed. I highly recommend this. You can put weightings on them too.
