the new owners have already begun removing all mods that are even slightly sexualized or horny, along with other more controversial items, etc.

the sanitization has begun. who could have seen this coming?

This one instantly went on my perma-ignore list.

Not just always online, but limited server slots even for singleplayer so they kick you for being AFK in singleplayer mode.

They forced always online, but they don't have enough server space to let singleplayer players idle.

They should be beyond ashamed to have shipped this. They should exit the game industry in shame and never return, horrifying. How can everything aside from 1 to 3 man indies be this horrible.

EA SPORTS WRC is adding EA anticheat, breaking another game on Steam Deck / Linux

I'd like to make a note here:

Dirt Rally 1 and Dirt Rally 2.0 both are better games, with better physics and content, and are both available for a few bucks on any good key retailer- and both run gloriously on both desktop linux and the deck.

the first game, unlike the second, is also free of always-online nonsense, so it's my preferred version.

as always, these games from awful publishers with bad practices are rarely best in class anyways, so nothing of value was lost

Quoting: neolithI'd love to play this - but unfortunately the always online restriction and the need for an EOS account make this a hard pass for me.
there is no need for an EOS account if you don't do multiplayer

As usual, same with Elden Ring performance etc...

Linux is the only serious "gaming OS" on the market. If you want the best performance from the largest slice of your gaming library, Linux dominates.

Windows gamers, why haven't you switched yet? Get a real gamer OS, smh.

If you don't care about multiplayer, and are only playing this at home as a singleplayer game... it's absolutely an incredible, flawless, beautiful port that 100% nails the feel of the original, with much better graphics.

For me, as someone who only plays at my desk, with an internet connection that basically never goes down... it's everything I ever wished it would be, and I hope the failure on EGS teaches some people a lesson.

if MS hadn't bought them, this never would have happened, and we'd be without it forever.

epic is vile. glad to see this, but in a very angry, bittersweet way. it should not have taken this long.

Wish this looked good because I like the theme... but I watched NorthernLion play it, and it seems pretty mid, with a number of missteps.
