Humble Indie Bundle 16 launches, great selection with Sunless Sea now officially on Linux

Quoting: NyamiouWe are still the ones spending the most on HiB even tough we have a lot more options to find Linux games out there :

Average Windows:
$5.63
Average Mac:
$7.07
Average Linux:
$8.28

And also we represent way more than 1% of the sales.
I know, right? The Linux percentage was almost equal to Mac. Which means they could very well be making more money off of Linux sales vs Mac, which I find amusing.
Even if you look at all Humble Bundle combined, including the ones that don't have Linux games in it and the ebooks and Android bundles, Linux users are paying 3$ more than the average user and represent 4.65% of the market. If you look only at HiB that we know have Linux games in them you see also that Linux users always pay more than other users (especially Windows users) and that they represent 5% of the market. So why are we still at 1% on Steam is a mystery to me but I bet it has to do with the fact that a lot of active users on Steam are not actually buying games and are only playing one game (Dota2, TF2, CS:GO...).

You may not like this game, I will definitely give it a try, this is still a day one Linux release from Square Enix and there isn't a MAC version yet. This means a lot, this is huge.

Spoiler, click me
They will make dumb excuses about losing the money in a black hole, having some disease, having grandma sick or just claim they are too busy but not telling what they are actually doing with their time (spending the money on something else).

When you back a projet on KickStarter you have to know that for every two project you back, one will be terrible (either the project will not be finished or it will totally suck) and one will be somewhat what you expected but not entirely. There is only a very few exceptions to this rule. But that doesn't mean you should stop backing project entirely, that mean that you shouldn't put too much money or too much hope on projects and think it more like a donation than buying something.

How SteamOS could become a better console competitor

You can play Typing of The Dead (not a Linux game) with the Steam Controller onscreen keyboard :

So once you get used to it, I don't think any game that require a keyboard from time to time is going to be that much of a problem.

For me the biggest problem with the Steam Machines is the price, I would gladly pay 450$ for an Alienware Steam Machine but in France the basic one actually cost 600€ which is 670$, this is outrageously expensive for what it is. For comparison, a PS4 cost 350$ in the US, 350€ (390$) in France, so the taxes are not an excuse for Alienware to add 220$ which is almost a 50% rise in price. The Materiel.net Steam Machine is a way better choice for us (way more performances for the price), but it costs 800€ and I don't want to spend that amount of money right now.

That was one year ago, things might still change. If they start to use Vulkan they may reconsider.

That somehow what I expected for a day one Linux release. Sadly games releases without bugs are a thing of the past.
