Quoting: Keyrock
Quoting: tomtommeWhere is Linux mentioned?
Nowhere, but since it's open source there's nothing stopping someone from forking it or porting it.
The time and effort needed is going to stop a lot of people. Depending on how difficult it will be to port it we might see a port quite soon or never.

That would be a sad and empty life... ;)
Before GOL, I would read Phoronix, now I don't read Phoronix very often.

People that aren't white?
I'm sure 3D people are sad too not to be included in this dimensionalist 2D-only title. This is clearly an outrage.

Unity game engine 5.4 beta is out, developers working on performance

Let's hope the open source drivers get boosted up to OpenGL4.1+ by the time more games use this eh?
Nouveau and radeonsi already have 4.1 support, i965 the Intel driver is only two feature away from 4.1 too.

Seriously?? I knew that DualShock 3 (PS3 controllers) worked great on SteamOS just plugged in with a USB cable (I use them along with my Steam controller for multiplayer), but I thought a GOL article said that the bluetooth connectivity would never work for Dualshock 3; only Dualshock 4's bluetooth was expected to be gotten to work.

I'd love to test it myself, but I'm away from home away from my SteamOS machine. :(
They patched bluez to have the feature. See this : https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/479 [External Link]

Apparently that make the pairing process exactly the same as it is with a PS3, which is great.

A chat with the developer of Quest of Dungeons about their Linux sales

Very good article. It's always good to hear about how the developers feel about Linux.

Linux usage on Steam is better than people think
5 Mar 2016 at 8:56 pm UTC

This articles are not bad, the journalist are doing their job of taking the information at the source (the hw survey). The problem is the hardware survey, this thing need to change to help be more representative of Linux usage. But to be fair even the corrected number is probably far from journalists expectations after they saw Gabe Newell push for Linux. The backlash of SteamOS did not help, and now we need something amazing (we may have some soon but will this be enough) or a big comeback of the Steam Machines if we want to get our numbers growing at a decent rate.

Linux usage on Steam is better than people think

Well we are doing fine, but I'm hoping that we could do better. If we manage to have a huge success somewhere, then maybe the journalist can pick up the story and actually show the people that Linux is a totally viable option, then maybe we can hope to really grow in numbers. But I don't get my hopes too high, I've been using Linux for almost 10 years and it has tremendously improve but people are still not using it.

Microsoft's latest tactics show Gabe Newell of Valve was right to worry

Quoting: amonobeaxUsing that Gandhi saying linux users usually use:
1) First they ignore you
2) Then they laugh at you
3) then they fight you
4) then you win.

We're entering the war part boys and it's going to be ugly.
We've been fighting since a very long time, believe me Microsoft never ignored Linux and they are always attempting to block it from going mainstream. They are still using FUD and corruption, that how they destroyed all their competitors back then, and that how they continue to destroy anything that stand in their way today.

Quoting: amonobeaxOn the other hand, it seems that we can ALWAYS count on Microsoft to do work for us... Their early Microsoft Store feedback is pretty much TERRIBLE, maybe there's something to do with all the retarded limitations they're imposing. What to say? Microsoft being microsoft, in the end, can make it fall.
I'd enjoy that irony very very much.
Remember Windows XP viruses, Vista, Windows 8, Windows 10 privacy policy, no matter how much they screw up, they always seems to win in the end.

F-Foxy -> Final Fantasy. Way more interesting than Five Nights at Freddy's and actually fits the picture (anime-style eye and nose of a small black and white furry creature).
