The GOL Nouveau Experiment

You should try some games made with Valve Source Engine, they run well on old graphic cards, so with a recent one even with Nouveau it should work well.

There isn't much experts on making games for Linux out there, people are going to make mistakes that's inevitable, but they learn from it and will eventually become experts on making games Linux compatible. And for once, we get the truth behind a delay and not some lame excuses.

Don't get your hopes up, I bet we will see a Call of Duty on Linux and a Linux version of Origin long before Blizzard makes any moves toward Linux.

That was to be excepted but if those sell well the competition should make the price drop rapidly, also maybe some manufacturers are waiting to see what happen but already have great units to be released.

On the third question, you should make it so that the "Yes" answer is at the bottom, because the "I don't have a Windows partition" and "No" are similar answer so it would be better if this was easier to add up those two. Also on question 8, between the different kind of CPU the colors are not always for the same thing (like green is sometimes for proprietary drivers and sometimes for open source drivers) that make it harder to instantly see the differences between the graphs. Also, could you please add "Bundle Stars" to the list of retailers. Aside of that, thank for those interesting graphs that show that less people are using Windows (which is great) but that at least ten percent of people are buying games not supported on Linux while still not using a Windows partition (maybe they have a Mac, or maybe they just have hope) and that people on AMD are not switching to a NVidia graphic card like they should (sorry for trolling but that's a little true, guys on AMD are always complaining about performance issues).

HTC & Valve Announce The HTC RE Vive

Well, I already have a Steam Machine to buy, so this fancy expensive gadget will have to wait. And for the look of it, it will wait very long, because I'm not going to put 500+ $ on a gadget like this until I'm actually rich.

Edge Of Eternity J-RPG Tribute Now On Kickstarter, Has A Linux Demo

Quoting: FutureSutureI am quite baffled. Is it that much cheaper to make a game in France than elsewhere?
With what they are asking they could only underpay one developer for one year (if you remove the taxes the guy would get paid ~26000€), with the minimal wage maybe they could pay two developer (or one developer for two years).

C4 Engine Drops Linux Support, Developer Says Linux Is Inferior
13 Jan 2015 at 2:52 am UTC Likes: 2

I'd say this guy is not even trying. I bet he can install Ubuntu because he's incapable of thinking outside the "next next next restart computer" scheme of Windows. This expert probably tried to install Avast on Ubuntu with a EXE file from Softonic and since it didn't work conclude that Linux is crap.

And that is really because he didn't manage to install Ubuntu on one particular machine that he is dropping Linux support, not because of a logical train of though or anything, just because he is butthurt :
A lot of ponies seem to think that maintaining the engine code for Linux is what was costly. That's not the case. The engine ran fine in Linux, and I rarely had any problems with graphics, audio, input, etc., once the engine code became robust on that platform. The problem is Linux itself not working. I cannot afford to spend weeks at a time just trying to install Linux, get it to boot, and get a development environment working. I simply don't have the funding to justify letting the engine stagnate while I mess around with an OS that should just work. It's extremely wasteful and unfair to users who are waiting on new features.

Also, I didn't rage-quit. I've been very patient with Linux for over two years, and the latest problems were simply the proverbial "last straw". I struggled very hard with this decision, knowing that it would piss off some ponies, but ultimately I had to choose what I thought was best for the future of the C4 Engine. I should be working on iOS support, new features like the particle system editor, and performance optimizations, not spending my entire day trying to get a computer to boot up properly, work with the GPU, and remain stable after installing updates.
Any developer should be able to install Ubuntu in one hour max, if there is a problem with his hardware he should have realized that the hardware was the problem and not the OS.
