Quoting: freerunnerliveI love steam. I play the hole weckend skyrim in 4k. Proton forever!!!
Hmmmmpphhh, Mine has the NPC voices bug (where there are no voices for the NPC's). There are some possible workarounds, but I'm really just hoping they get Proton fixed so it just works..
Install XACT into the SKSE prefix, also make sure your open files size is large enough.
Thanks for the suggestions! I've made some effort on the XACT front with some of the issues that others have commented upon, and decided its probably going to be easier to wait for upcoming real fixes that are supposedly coming soon - I'm a patient man. (and I'm running on a headless home built steam machine with intermittent wireless connectivity issues, which makes it a pain)

I haven't heard of any issues regarding "open files" size. I assume that is to do with the kernel parameter fs.file-max... Do you have a link to what is the proper size for "large enough" or any more information at all on that? (I did do some searching to no avail...)
Thanks..

inXile will be 'all hands are on deck' to get the Linux version of The Bard's Tale IV out as soon as possible

Quoting: Mountain ManI'm too cynical to believe there'll be a Linux version until I see the "Buy" button on Steam. How many times have we heard, "We'll get to the Linux version right after the Windows release!" followed by "We'll get to the Linux version right after we spend the next couple of months releasing critical patches for the Windows version!" followed by "We'll consider looking into the Linux release just as soon as we're done with this DLC for Windows!" followed by "The Linux version is being delayed because we've hit some technical snags!" and then finally, 18-months later, "We're suspending development of the Linux version due to lack of interest. But thanks to everybody who donated to our crowd funding campaigns! Our Windows customers are thrilled with their game!"
As a backer, I sincerely hope that will not be the case. I only put my faith in it as they seemed to have a decent record of porting... However, I'll admit, I've been a bit letdown each time they announce an alpha/beta to their backers and they are not considering other OS'es, so obviously not doing simultaneous cross-platform development..

A new SteamOS beta is out with GPU driver updates and a fresh Linux kernel

Yes, I was about to give up steamOS from my couch (before the 3.0 announcement came), due to driver issues.. This is a great hold-over until then!

Looks like survival game 'Stranded Deep' is now officially available on Linux

Would love to play it if they get it working properly.. I wonder if I could survive as a vegan? Would probably have to drop down to pescatarian level and eat fish though.. (whatever it takes in a survival situation I guess)..

Yup, can confirm they did fix as promised :)
I'm glad I've been on a motorcycle vacation and didn't see this until I got back and the glitch already fixed!

Quoting: PatolaI would surely like a service where I could track and be recalled of all these games which are not out yet and do not have a steam/gog/itch/whatever page where I could just wishlist it. This one seems amazing, and also looked to me a bit like The Dark Mod.
You can do that at Giantbomb.com. You can make custom lists. For example [External Link], long ago, I created a list I called "Watching" where I added games I was keen about but not yet "wish list" status. That's also where I keep track of games I am not finished with.
Thanks, excellent tip. I am already following Underworld Ascendant, Black Geyser, Phoenix Point and Cosmic Star Heroine there by now. :-) Metanoia and Remnant are not there yet though.
I'd like to see something more integrated with GoL, where when I read a game article, I could click on a wishlist/remindme type of button that I can check back on later. I don't want to have to manually go do it on another site. Why wouldn't I just use a notepad app on my pc or phone if that was the case?
