To be honest Wine has already vastly improved. For example The Witcher 3 Gold/GOG works like a charm on Wine with all graphics set to maximum (except the hair stuff), some lag from time to time but not much actually.
The next Linux patch for Civilization VI will be out soon with cross-platform online play
