Fedora Linux 44 is out now as one of the best Linux distributions

Quoting: Phlebiac
Quoting: Linux_RocksI remember running Fedora 3
Never existed. You mean Fedora Core 3? I remember when the rumors starting flying that Red Hat 9.0 was the end of the line. It was true; Fedora Core replaced it. At this point, I no longer remember when they dropped "Core" and then started with the sub-branding, like "Workstation".

Ah, Wikipedia remembers: Fedora 7 dropped "Core" because it merged in the "Extras" repository; I think that's what remains as EPEL for the server variants to this day. Same article says "Workstation" didn't come until Fedora 21.
Oops, my bad. You're right, I totally forgot about the name change. Yeah, it was Fedora Core 3.

I remember running Fedora 3 on a Pentium II 266MHz machine with 384MB of RAM. It had ATI RAGE 128 graphics and some non-Creative sound card. It was a hand-me-down PC from my Grandparents. I was 18 back then. Boy, how time flies, I'm staring down 40 in a month and a half. D:

More retro goodies - Microsoft open sources 86-DOS and PC-DOS

That's actually pretty cool, especially the finding the printed source code in his garage. lol

Now if they wanna actually be cool, they'll open source all the way up to MS-DOS 6.22 and either open source Windows 3.11 or make it freely available on their site. They've got no money to lose in doing so and it'd just be easy PR for them.

I prefer Revenge of the 5th, thank you. But anyways... Unless some key use case comes up, these are a hard pass for me at that price point. I've got 2 Xbox Series controllers and the adapter for extra low latency. The adapter works in Linux and I can deal with just using Bluetooth on Mac.

Australia targets Steam, Roblox and others in new legal push against extremists and predators

Quoting: HyperRealisticRockSo many useless commenters who what to do nothing and expect things to magically change.

Here let me simplify it for you simple minded people...

You can draw hate speech with markers (crayola is NOT responsible)
BUT if you display this hate speech on crayolas website then (crayola IS responsible)

You can type a guide to making explosive suicide vests on MS Word (Microsoft is NOT responsible)
BUT if you publish that guide on the Microsofts forums then (Microsoft IS responsible)

You can make a game about under-age sex (Steam is NOT responsible)
BUT if you publish that on Steam then (Steam IS responsible)

This is about centralized platforms being responsible for the content they host, NOT distributed software in which the USER is responsible. Any online games that are hosted or use the services of said company are responsible for the content of that game as this is publicly available and subject to the same laws regarding content in any public space. This is not the wild west internet anymore, we need rules and punishment for breaking said rules.
I totally get and understand what you're saying, but being elitist about it just makes things worse and opens up things to toxicity.

It's like the China fear mongering above. All that does is possibly open the door to anti-Chinese sentiment.

They target Islam in this, but what about the other cults of Abraham or even other mythologies period? Cause Judeo-Christian bullshit can be just as extremist as Islam. I don't like any mythology, but bigotry is stupid regardless.

Furthermore, they'll probably just end up using this against the actual left and labor or peace activists too. Can't have too much social justice or freedom for workers after all.

Also, I don't know how Aussies still aren't pissed about the US/CIA coup d'état in their country back in the day.

World War I, the war in which the only "good guys" were James Connolly and the Irish Republican Brotherhood and Lenin and the Bolsheviks. The redrawing of the lines of imperialism in which workers, peasants, and even brown people from colonial occupations were sent to die for the white ruling class.

A divisive conflict, one that saw the closure of the Second International with the split between the revolutionary socialists and bourgeois socialists. The latter of which who were merely liberals holding a red rose. Who not only failed to get over themselves, but also failed to get over the vanity of nations and even imperialism itself.
