Cheese's got a point really. Although I would be the first to jump at the opportunity to play a new HG game, my funds are rather low nowadays. Until more information is available about these claims 'tis better for me to wait and see what happens.

I've always admired all the OSS guys working on good old UFO, however I can't help but feel like they're being cheated by the current copyright owner - and before we jump the gun, I do say all this completely subjectively.
My thoughts go like this: These guys, working for free in their spare time, are doing all the work of keeping this game enjoyable and playable on all (modern) systems, yet the publisher keeps selling the game and getting the royalties. I remember when this title was considered Abandonware, as in there was no distribution and nobody would care when people go and simply download the game to play it. The copyright owner didn't give a damn, the game wasn't patched or maintained (and prolly still isn't), and thus the OSS community pitched in to make it work (i.e. UFO2000). And now, ever since the new XCOM was announced they immediately started caring about whether the game is sold or not. Yet in the end they provide it as-is and you STILL need the OSS reimplementation to run it "normally"? I call foul play. If they're going to sell the game then they should either patch it themselves or support the OpenXcom guys...
Okay, I'm done ranting. Good job on your new release guys! ^_^

To be honest, I think this is a bad idea. At the end of the day someone will end up shafted - prolly the gamedevs. Who knows: Maybe they actually agreed to this. In that case we shall see what happens...

Desura and what annoys me

I actually noticed this a long time ago. Fixed it the same way as avarisclari: went to "manage my platform selection" and selected 32bit instead of 64bit.
I could be wrong, but I believe someone did make a topic in their forums about this before. I didn't see much reason to repeat post cause, let's be honest, the Desura website desperately needs an upgrade anyway. Unlike the Desurium client which is coming along nicely, the service-side is falling behind. Showing 32bit/64bit is only one of their problems...

It's still too early to say if it's definitely canceled. :(
Give him some time to calm down; this was obviously quite a stressful experience.

I suppose we could debate the reasons behind 'why' it happened all day long, however ultimately this would lead into pointless speculation. It's always sad when things like this happen, especially with titles that look so promising. Still, it was extremely generous of him to offer the game free of charge, and provide a Linux version too! I do wish him best of luck with his next project, whichever it may be.
Hmm...
Mind you, I'm just thinking out loud, but do you think this game would get updated further if it was made open-source?
Makes me wonder if it could gather enough oss developers' interest to get the wheel rolling again...

New Crowdfunding wiki is up

We'll need a link to the Wiki added somewhere in the header.
As for the Wiki itself: Doesn't really need to be split into separate pages; a table of contents is fine too. However it all depends on what else(?) gets added to the Wiki. If its going to be only a net-linking list of crowdfunded Linux games then it might be a good idea to just replace the main page with it and add an alphabetical sorting system.
Also, tbh I am a tad worried that now we have both a game database and a game Wiki. I know they are meant for different things, but couldn't the same effect be achieved with just one of them? I don't think it's a good idea to stretch the site contents too much. Just sayin' :S
