Endless Legend Will Come To Linux, Suffering Delays

I'd say you should probably avoid Beyond Earth if you already have Civ 5. The games are quite similar.

Endless Legend Will Come To Linux, Suffering Delays

No sure why the title is "Endless Legend Will Come To Linux". They say that they can't promise "if/when it will be released". Bolded word is a keyword. It should really say "Endless Legend Might Come To Linux... Maybe".

If anything the developper is doing his best to tamper your enthousiasm.

Windows Games On Linux, WINE & PlayOnLinux

I no longer use playonlinux scripts. I have found that a lot of them seem to not be updated very frequently to account for new wine releases or patches which may have affected compatibility. I still use playonlinux, but only as an easy way to manage multiple versions of wine. I just install the applications from scratch into new virtual drives and go to winehq to see if anything needs to be done to make it work.

Quoting: Xpander
Quoting: XodetaetlAre there more details about "Improved support for restoring display mode" ? It would be nice if it meant that Wine now restores the screen res when a low res fullscreen game crashes.
wait what? this issue has been fixed long time ago.. when they updated the xrandr support in wine
havent had this issue for years imo... this was fixed i believe somewhere in wine 1.5.x something
It was not, it seems. I have the exact same problem.

A Linux Port Of Frozen Synapse Prime Is Unlikely

There's plenty of other devs who are totally willing to port to linux. I will defer to their judgment, they might know more than mister 12 years of experience.

Also, isn't that the company that promised a linux game for a humble bundle but failed to deliver? I am not so surprised...

Rich Geldreich On The State Of Linux Gaming, And It's Not Good

Trolling is when you do or post something outrageous to elicit a reaction. I think he's just an angry customer. He doesn't owe anything to anyone. If he wants to complain about the port not supporting 32 bits when the Windows version does, it's his right. If he wants to do what angry customers do and tell his friends, it's also his right. You may judge him for the reason he's angry, but he still can do all these things as a customer. Customer rights trump the goal of making linux a gaming platform, as far as I'm concerned.

Quoting: NyamiouIt's FUD, he has probably been paid by Microsoft (or Apple / Sony / Nintendo) for saying this nonsense.
This "FUD!" and "shill!" stuff has to stop. It makes us look completely disconnected from reality. This comment thread has plenty of examples showing that it is not FUD. We gain nothing by ignoring issues.

Quoting: peterp771This guy is either an idiot or he's paid by Microsoft. Or he left Valve on bad terms. I've seen his rants before about OpenGl and now he's dissing Linux gaming. The fact that he's knocking Steam Machines before they've even been released tells you everything.

Best to just ignore him.
As much as I want linux to succeed as a gaming platform, we're not helping by staying blind to issues. This guy is calling it like it is.
