My question regarding the future of the site and Liam being gone is: Where will the ongoing Patreon funds be going? I'd like to see the funds going towards keeping the site running, etc.

I have no plans on changing my Patreon pledge any time soon. I just like asking questions :)

Linux users are also potentially more privacy conscious than the general population so they might refuse to send data to Valve. In my humble opinion anyway ..

GOG com Now Officially Support Linux Games
28 Jul 2014 at 1:37 pm UTC

Heck yes! I just noticed that Darklands was available there for linux!

I'm so glad they're making it easy for people like us to 'just play' games when we want to.

I'm so not interested in finding a 5.25" floppy drive, a PC the drive will interface with, and installing all 9 or 10 of those disks under a DOS install .. then copying the files somewhere so I can launch them with an emulator ..

Totally worth the pocket change to have them wrap it up for me.

Props to GOG!

SteamOS Update 123 Pushed To Alchemist Beta
18 Jul 2014 at 3:20 pm UTC

I haven't applied the update but the multiple reboots required after updates really got to me. I was certain that I had other issues going on (hence prompting me to opt out of the beta and reinstall on my boxes)

Now that I know it wasn't just me I'll opt back in.

Thanks for the info!

Vote For GOG To Make Galaxy Open Source

It would be simple enough to choose a license that forbade commercial use of the code. This would prevent Desura from being able to use it, I believe. Heck, they could specifically write in that it can only be used for GOG.

IMO there are no downsides and only upsides to having it be FOSS.

Regardless, I'll be using their linux client either way :) .. but FOSS FTW 4eva

Even though the stretch goal wasn't made they've stated that all preorders will be added to the total for stretch goal thingies.
