Stellaris, An Ambitious Space Grand Strategy Game By Paradox, Announced & Coming To Linux
7 Aug 2015 at 10:51 pm UTC

Quoting: Mountain Man
Quoting: hummer010I have a real love / hate relationship with Paradox. I love the games, I love the Linux support.

I hate all the bloody DLC. I hate the fact that you can spend more on DLC than the base game cost.
I think Paradox is one of the few companies to do DLC right. The granular approach means that you can only buy what you want. Plus they give away so much content for free in their patches that I really don't see any reason to complain.
I think selling things like "make different types of units actually look different" and "appropriate background music" is insane. That's like selling the polish for your game separately.

Raven’s Cry Released On Linux, Still A Bit Buggy

Steam user reviews look pretty bad, not only because of the bugs. Too bad.

Mount And Blade: Warband DLC "Viking Conquest" Is Out
19 Dec 2014 at 7:27 am UTC

Quoting: StianTheDarkNope. Only on Windows it runs bad, but I dont dual-boot anymore.
Did you test if it runs badly on your PC on Windows? What are your system specs and graphics driver? I'm running this on Linux, 64bit Gentoo Unstable, GTX660 with Nvidia's drivers (346.22). I can't play this for longer than 10 minutes without a crash to desktop, performance sometimes is horrid unless I switch to the lowest graphics settings (world map is still awful even then). The vanilla game only crashes once in a while.

Quoting: StianTheDarkThe game works great for me :)
So you don't get loads of crashes, ridiculous load times and bad performance? That's surprising.

They just need to fix a memory leak and some crashes and it will be the best Warband.
And the visual bugs, and the atrocious performance. Right now you should not buy this, it's unplayable for me.

Microsoft Reportedly Buying Minecraft Maker Mojang
10 Sep 2014 at 7:56 am UTC

I think Minecraft pretty much sold what it will sell, except maybe one last big burst from the new consoles. Microsoft might believe that securing the rights to a game that sold over 50,000,000 copies is a good move. Sales from merchandise, nickel-and-dime bs DLC and a sequel would be huge. Maybe not 2 billion huge, but still. Plus having a sequel be exclusive to the Xbox One, as far as consoles go, might help sales of that thing as well.

Steam Hardware Survey For August 2014, Linux Slips
7 Sep 2014 at 12:41 pm UTC

The overall change (-0.05%) is too small to be significant, especially since, as you pointed out, they don't poll all users.
