Guts and Glory is the most disturbingly hilarious racing game I've ever played

Liam : "I'm clearly a pro gamer..... Oh my leg!!"

This one was hilarious. The game seems really fun

Yay for Mount and Blade II also :) I loved Mount and Blade Warband, but the Linux version is buggy. I haven't managed to find an answer to my unexpected and continuous crashes on any forum :(

I would like to see... not one but three as many people have answered here

- Warlock, Master of the Arcane. Because it's one of my favorites TBS games, and I love TBS. Also, the linux version of Warlock 2 was pretty shitty, and they never finished it. It has horrible performance and lots of bugs left.

- Basically any of the Elder Scrolls series. Skyrim would be the best because I love first person RPG's and I already played Oblivion and Morrowind. Plus, for Morrowind we have OpenMW now :)

- Legend of Grimrock II. That was a shame not to have this one after the first was on Linux

Looks like the 4X turn-based strategy game 'Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War' will come to Linux

I was very happy at the release of Pandora, because I love turn based strategy games, especially 4x games. However it felt... incomplete, not so good. I want to go back to it now, to see if this impression was right.
I also just discovered that they published another game that was also on Linux : Conquest [External Link]. I'll probably give it a try too, this one is a turn based tactics game, and the engine seems pretty much the sime, possibly an even older version.

Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV to both receive expansions in November

Quoting: Lakorta-Broken crossplatform multiplayer
-Broken hotjoin
Ok, those don't affect me, because I only do singleplayer.
By the way, they just posted this : [url=https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/eu4-development-diary-31st-of-october-2017.1052692/]

What they say in the end, if you don't want to read all the post :

"tl;dr: A lot of work on multiplayer has been done, and it will continue. Cross Platform, Cross DLC, and Hotjoin should now be working. Reporting your desyncs might get them fixed faster. If you guys have any questions or suggestions I’d be glad to discuss in this thread."

Quoting: Lakorta-Ironman save corruption when saving after losing internet connection
I'm glad I didn't lose my internet connection as I only play in Ironman for the moment

Quoting: Lakorta-Quitting to the menu doesn't properly reset the game (they "fixed" it by restarting the game each time you quit to the menu)
Agreed, the fix is not really nice, but it's fixed.

Quoting: Lakorta-Changing the start game before starting a new game causes problems (e.g. changing to a later start date and changing back gives France empire status)
Yeah I had this once too, but I don't play too much with dates, I most usually play the full campaign. Should try later starts one day

I agree that they should be fixed of course but all in all they don't seem so gamebreaking or things that happen so often.

Quoting: minjSorry for replying w/o reading all the WoTs but just wanted to reiterate the arguments that actually count:

1) DLC prices are too damn high
Depends, but I can agree on this one. That's why I wait for sales too. But some of them I bought them full price

Quoting: minj2) vanilla bugs stay unfixed for years
Can you please give examples ? I recently made two complete runs with EU4 and I only had one bug, in fact, the same in the two runs, and from the first run to the second run it was even a bit corrected as far as I could see. Plus it was not at all a game breaking bug. Just units that can't be rerouted under certain circumstances.

Quoting: razing32Oh dear.
The roguelite element put me off FTL.
I could accept Permadeath after one sector
I could most definetly NOT after 6 sectors and a BOSS with 3 damn forms to go through.
Loved the world ,randomization and exploration.
Funny, that's one of the things that kept me going... I still remember the frustration of my first boss fight. "What ? I have to fucking beat him not once, not twice but three times ?!?!?!" (I think I lost to the second form of the boss, then I read somewhere about the three forms)
For me even 6 sectors did not seem so big a run, it's like in Ziggurat. I accept permadeath because I can pretty easily make a run again.
After the first loss I beat the boss shortly after, it was very rewarding then :)

Quoting: Brisse@ Mountain Man, Rutine and everyone else quoting me with counter arguments:

Don't want to sound harsh or pick a fight, but gullible fans like you are the reason publishers can keep up manipulative schemes like this.
Well, I might not agree with you, but that doesn't mean I am a gullible fan, thank you very much. I did not say in my post that you were stupid or anything, I tried to state my opinion, that is contrary to yours, in the most respectful way I could.
Try to do the same.

Quoting: BrisseEdit,
Just a little TL,DR:
They know exactly how you are thinking and what your buying habits are, and they are using it to their full advantage to make maximum profit.
Yeah, because other gaming companies are just offering things out of love, and developers and artists don't like being paid.

Concerning the rest of your arguments I hear them and they make some sense. But you always exagerate. You talk about 20€ as if all EU4 expansions cost 20 € which is not true.

Just for the sake of it I am going to try an EU4 game today deactivating all DLC's, to see how it looks like, and what you can do.

Quoting: BrisseAs much as I love these games, I despise Paradox for their DLC strategy, which is designed to milk every last penny out of us. The base game currently costs 39.99€ on Steam, but that is just a shell of what the game should be. To get the full experience you have to throw another whopping 279.74€ on DLC. It's the same disgusting thing EA did with The Sims.

Edit: They don't even have the decency to sell a complete expansion. Instead they split every expansion up in two pieces, one with gameplay mechanics, and another with art assets. How disgusting is that!?
Well, disgusting and despising seems like a bit too much in my opinion. I can understand that you disagree with their DLC policy but :

1 -When I bought EU4, around v1.5, I bought it "naked" without any DLC's, just to see if it was worth it. And for me it was very much worth it at the time. Even then, it was so much better than EU3 for me. So that's to say that yes, the base game can probably feel incomplete right now, when you have played or heard about all the DLC's but even the base game has been very much improved, so I don't think it's a shell of what it should be.
2 - Concerning the splitting of expansions.. would you prefer that they force you to buy the arts along with game content ? I personally buy the DLC's at 33-75% discount, depending on how interesting they sound but art content I buy it a 75%. So I am very happy with the fact that they sell them separately. Plus, you can buy them bundled if you want, every time (for example http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/1557/Europa_Universalis_IV_Rights_of_Man_Collection/) [External Link]
3 - Concerning the price too.. well, ok, it's impressive let's say around 300€ to have everything at full price. Probably too much. But very often you can find the game at the base game at -75% (10 €) and if you like the base game you can then buy the DLC's also discount, for 4 or 5 € each.

This is not so much for the author of the comment I am quoting that is of course very much entitled to his or her opinion, but for other people that do not know EU4 yet.

And sorry for saying almost the same thing than Teodosio and Purple Library Guy, but I think this game is awesome and I too have played it for countless hours (544 now). And it's not only the number of hours, but the feeling when you are playing. The feeling to be playing the best strategy title, light years ahead of any of the civilization games for example.
