It's something I fear we will never break out of, and it's why I now call it a dead horse argument.
Disastrous, I agree. If even a game developper make this mistake, the world is a very sad place to live for us, between others.

Quoting: Xpandergreat to see improvements but still long way to go with graphicaly intensive stuff like valley

a 660TI (midrange card) can beat 7950(highend card) by 3x

scroll down for my tropics and valley benchmarks:
http://openbenchmarking.org/result/1408316-KH-XPANDER3655 [External Link]

all in all .. old source engine games run pretty good... would be interesting to see Serious Sam 3, Natural Selection and Metro LL in the mix as well
Hum, I disagree with this :
660TI (midrange card)
7950(highend card)

The 660ti is only a bit cheaper than the 7950.

The 760 is a rebadged 670. And the 660ti is a 670 with a bit less of SPU.
The R9 280 is a rebadged 7950. It is a bit cheaper than a 760.
Even if the 7950 compete with the 670/760, his performance are not so far from the 660ti, and those 2 cards are very similarly priced.
So I think we can say that, nowadays, those 2 cards are midrange card.

Also, hard to answer about the cpu & gpu, because my desktop got an intel CPU with an AMD gfx, and my HTPC got an AMD CPU with nVidia gfx :P

Quoting: Armand RaynalOk Guys, reading you i was wondering if I was dumb, so I made a video to show you that, on my setup, it does not work.
Three quick questions. First, are you plugged into a USB 2 or USB 3 slot? It might make a difference, although unlikely as both work for me.

Secondly, is it certain that the USB cable you are using is not faulty in any way? I've had black USB cables like this work with some devices and not others, making me think the other devices were broken. It was just a shoddy USB cable, which is why I bought this new one.

Third, after plugging in the DualShock 3 controller, have you held down the PS button until a menu appears in SteamOS? That's usually what I have to do initially to get it recognized for input.

These are just some steps I would advise when attempting to troubleshoot why it doesn't work. Have you navigated to the controller section in SteamOS via keyboard+mouse whilst the PS3 controller is plugged in? Does it say PS3 controller or nothing at all?
Plugged at a USB2.0 port. The cable work fine on windows with DS3 tool.

I didn't pull the home button for a long time. I just touched it quickly as you can see in the video.
Nothing in the settings.

I'll try what you recommended, and post here to tell if it worked or not. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

Sir, You Are Being Hunted.

Enjoyed it.

Mount and blade Warband. Very disapointed by the fighting system. Too simple.

XCOM : Ennemy Unknow. Enjoyed it. Probably my third favorite game.

Europa Universalis IV, the same.
