Yes you can add sources as long as you set up the sudo password, etc.

What boot conflict ... Windows, for some reason, wasn't ok to boot after the installation of SteamOS, on a different drive.Not gonna be exhaustive, but W8.1 is kind of virus. That's what I felt ...

no idea if mods like Clash of Kings and similar work yet
but so far the framerate is rock solid and no graphical glitches noticed.

game hangs on exit.. process needs to be killed or forced to close
