Quoting: ungutknutNice! Bought it a few days ago when it was -75% on steam - speculating that it'll be released on linux.
Except, now it counts as a Windows sale, and Feral get none of the money for it.
I don't care. Wouldn't have bought it anyway if it wasn't that cheap.
Enjoy the game, we've had a blast making it for Linux!

Hopefully next time you'll be able to buy a Tux version and help fund more games coming to Linux :)

Quoting: darkszlufi reaaaaly hope this will have mesa support at launch :D
Due to various issues with Mesa we will not be supporting AMD on release. We only can officially support drivers if they meet the quality needed and sadly Mesa isn't quite there yet as it has a few issues and edge cases. It was a super close call but in the end we won't say a game is officially supported unless it runs great using release versions of the drivers and kernel.

However we developed the game using AMD cards as well as Nvidia so if you install the latest Mesa beta drivers and other updates as needed it runs it's just not at a level where we can provide official support as some edge cases will exist. Hopefully once all the Mesa developments get into a stable release version and all the related kernel improvements also are in a stable release then support for Mad Max and similar complex titles will be easier/possible.

Summary: AMD is unsupported meaning we don't recommend you purchase it on AMD GPUs, however we have don a lot of work towards support which should happen once all the improvements to Mesa/Kernel are in stable branches.

Cross platform multiplayer is unlikely to happen due to the age of the game and the complexity of the problem. Here is an explanation of the problem (it's the same as we encountered with Company OF Heroes 2 & the Total War games)

We've coordinated with Sega & Valve and a solution was put in place late on Friday afternoon/evening. Everyone with a THQ based package should have access to the Linux version now :) If you still have issues after restarting Steam client contact our support.

Have a good weekend all!

Quoting: valczirI bought this *ages* ago and never got it working properly in Wine. I decided I would rather support Feral, so I bought the Grand Master collection. Any chance that'll fix the issue? Or will I still need to contact support?
Thanks for the offer of supporting us by buying the game on Linux! Linux keys will work just fine the issue is with the older Windows / THQ ones.

We will get your original key working though :-)

Quoting: FinzIn my case its not the lib issue, game forks fine but only on average graphics settings.

edit:

nvm, u were right. Thanks!

edit 2:

The game seems to run after your I deleted asound files. Graphics settings has been saved however the game still looks garbage. Visually nothing has changed.

Here is example screenshot how it looks at ultra settings.

With unsupported distros you can sometimes have issues, this is usually caused by one of the many libraries the distro is using being to old/new and conflicting with the Steam runtime and/or the game.

It doesn't from the feedback we've had sound like an issue others have seen but I also don't have any suggestions based on what info you've provided so far other than try again using an Ubuntu / SteamOS install and make sure your hardware meets the min specs on the Steam page.

Good luck

Quoting: neowiz73oh ok, thank you, this explains my problem then :) should I contact Feral Interactive or Sega? (i've just submitted a support request with Sega)
You should contact Feral we're the Linux publishers our support team can't help you if you email the Windows publisher as our team has no direct access to Windows support :-)

Quoting: doctorxgetting missing executable... folder is blank... *sigh*
Sounds like you have a THQ windows key. Contact support and we can get your details and keep you updated.

For anyone reading who is concerned this doesn't effect anyone buying a Linux key (or most recently purchased Windows keys) it only effects people with some of the original THQ keys.

Cheers,

Edwin

Quoting: Kuduzkehpanwell i bought game very long ago so What should i do to make it count as a linux copy sold.
And dont forget to mention that: YAYYYYYY!
You can't make your original purchase into a Linux one. That was a Windows purchase and always will be.
