Alien Hunters DLC for XCOM 2 now available along with a big patch on SteamOS & Linux

Quoting: rkfgLooks like that info is outdated. I've just compared 364.19 and 358.16 and performance seems to be better on the former, 30 FPS on medium settings on the base screen vs. 20-22 on the latter. Still, don't understand that warning popup about unsupported card or driver, maybe the requirements can be relaxed now?..
We're still getting some feedback that the performance hasn't returned on some newer drivers so we're keeping the warning in place for now which we investigate further.

Quoting: rkfgAnd it still doesn't officially support 36x.xx driver branch. Which is a shame since it's a stable one. I don't believe that GLVND hits the performance because even other Feral ports show the same performance on 35x.xx and 36x.xx, except XCOM 2.
If you are you seeing a major performance drop on specific Nvidia drivers then make sure you contact both Feral support and Nvidia. This sounds like a major regression that Nvidia will need to fix of you are seeing performance problems on your setup.

Quoting: urlauberThanx for the review! One thing I miss though is the mentioning of any kind of wheel support (and if FFB is working - unlike in Euro Truck Simulator).
Full wheel support like we did with Autosport. :)

Quoting: TheRiddickWish Feral would optimize CoH2, runs terribly.
Have you tried in recently it's much quicker than on launch as we have patched it a number of times with new features and performance improvements.

Quoting: edddeduckferalThanks everyone we're glad you're all enjoying the improvements. :-)
Please don't ignore my question. Currently I'm not enjoying anything :-/
Sorry must have missed you. No it's highly unlikely we'll ship on GoG any time soon. The game uses Steam for friends, achievements, multiplayer support so all this would have to be removed or rewritten for GoG and those are just the technical hurdles.

We don't use any type of restrictive DRM although we do run a check to make sure you own the game on your Steam account which will allow us to enable all the features we mentioned above and also confirm your game ownership.

Quoting: GuestReally nice to see some of the latest OpenGL features making an appearance. Strictly speaking, DSA is GL4.5, so it really is latest & greatest.
Keep it up Feral, and cheers for the Mesa testing.
Thanks MIRV, I'll pass on your kind words to our Dev and QA teams. :-)

Quoting: linuxgamerGood job. I didnt experience noticeable frame drops except for narrow passages which should have marked level transactions. But when it dropped it was like 0.5s freeze, maybe shader compilation. Glad to see good service after-release.

BTW: Aren't Feral's guys busy with F1 ATM?
Yes :) Just like modern CPUs we can multitask. ;)

Quoting: PangachatYup, i made it to the Shipwreck Beach before the patch, without any graphic problems, or freezes (except the low performance), then decided to wait while the patch come. Latest stable SteamOS R7 250X A8 7600K.
SteamOS uses the (unsupported) AMD closed source drivers. You need to have the open source Mesa drivers to be supported on TR 2013. If you launch the game on another distro that supports Mesa you should be fine.

Quoting: PangachatGreat patch! Now it's not even start on SteamOS, saved a few coins for me :D
Your post is a little confusing but I assume you are having an issue?

Please make sure your SteamOS is up to date and your machine meets the minimum specifications. If it does then try rebooting your Linux box we find sometimes SteamOS will have issue after an update that a reboot will fix.

If none of this works please email our support and we can investigate.

Best Regards,

Edwin

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionI put this game on hold until a performance patch was released. Lo and behold, a 500+ MB update for Tomb Raider today! Hopefully now big, open levels won't drop below ~25 fps. And hopefully TressFX hair effect doesn't turn into blocky Lego at certain camera angles.
AFAIK That only happens if you are running unsupported closed source AMD drivers. If you are running on Nvidia please do get in touch and we can investigate.
