Company of Heroes 2 updated and performs better, The Western Front Armies expansion released
29 Jan 2016 at 7:35 pm UTC
Adds Western Front Armies
Improved performance
Supports Mac vs Linux MP
Due to improvements in Mesa & Crimson drivers and some work we have done since the initial release the game is also more stable and performant on AMD hardware however some issues still exist so the game is still not officially supported on AMD graphics. However this patch demonstrates some of the work we have been doing with the driver teams towards official support in the future.

I would double check your graphics card and driver version details and update if needed. If that does not work then I'd contact Feral support with as much detail as possible as to your hardware and software setup and we can investigate.

Quoting: oldrocker99Lovely ten-year-old game ;) , but I've had it crash with no way to get out (Not CTRL-ALT-F!, not ALT-F4, not even ALT-TAB) in Tutorial 2 besides the reset button :><: . Anyone else have this happen? We have not seen that on any supported hardware/software. However it does sound like a graphics card hang which is almost always caused by using out of date drivers that don't meet the minimum specifications we have listed on the Store page.

Next time you login you should get an update which will be a few GB in size, this will install the Kingdoms expansion data. Once update you should be able to play fine :)

Quoting: NovenTheHeroI did select it in the pre-game launcher. For example I select the Americas game and I get the error described in the links. I bought the game via steam long ago (around when it was available on steam originally). What would you need for a support ticket and where would I submit it?Looks like it was a Steam issue where you were not getting granted access to the data for Kingdoms on Linux (Mac was also effected) due to the decade old access package setup that your account was linked against. After some poking with a stick, sacrificing the UPS delivery guy to Cthulhu it appears that we have updated the affected package and fixed the problem.

Quoting: rashafferHi Edwin from Feral,There is only a Steam version for Linux.
Looking at some links to the Mac version of M2TW, it appears that there should be a straightforward way to use mods on the Linux version, but not quite sure where to place the mods or what the format of the Launch Option should be. Any chance you could provide a simple howto guide (Steam and non-Steam installations)?

Quoting: rashafferI also wish I could give you money for your port, but I originally bought M2TW many years ago. Is there another way to compensate Feral for your great work? You could buy a second copy for one of your Linux friends but in all seriousness don't worry about it, you can always buy the next game that we port if you like the game, hopefully you won't already own that one :)

You have to select the campaign in the pre-game launcher and then the game should load up with the game, the menus run custom backgrounds for the expansions so it is usually pretty obvious when it hasn't worked. I have seen a couple of reports including yours but no-one has contacted support yet from what I can tell.
Sounds like someone either has a package access issue (depending on where they bought the game) or they are using something strange like an unusual file path or partition formatting that is causing an issue. Hard to tell given it is super rare and we have not had any details in support yet. When we do get some details in support we can have a look see if we can anything obviously wrong.

If you contact our support with specific details of exactly how you setup your specific machine we can have a look and see what happening.

Quoting: MyeulCPerformance a bit low on a 6870 (40-60 FPS), but still very playable with radeon driver. We do test on multiple keyboard layouts and languages (AZERTY is one of the most tested after QWERTY) however Linux has a number of ways of supporting keyboard layouts and this game is pretty old so had very limited keyboard support to begin with so the reason for your mapping issue has many possible triggers.
Feral, would it be possible for you to try out your ports on a different keyboard than qwerty (hint : azerty)? Of course, settings are broken by default, which is the norm, but when I remap my keyboard in-game to a qwerty one with a shortcut (plasma 5), the game ignores this. It seems you are using keycodes, which don't (as far as I know) change between different layouts. So, I don't really understand what you did wrong there :/
Allowing to remap keys ingame would also do, but I guess it's rather complicated.

Split screen support looks to be a mesa bug that is under investigation.

Quoting: ungutknutSounds great. I have issues with blooming (being... well... way too bloomy) and splitscreen not working properly on my secondary PC (R9 270). Hope the fixes get implemented in oibafs ppa soon...This happens if your mesa drivers are compiled using the older version of LLVM which means your drivers only support OpenGL 3, if you use drivers compiled with the newer version of LLVM you will gain OpenGL 4 support which fixes the bloom.

If you can contact Feral support we can provide a beta where we disable the xpad force feedback which will avoid the hangs. I don't think the issue is at all related to the mesa drivers.
p.s. I also updated the bug with the relevant inks.

Quoting: sobkasDoes anyone experiences hard hangs with Grid Autosport?Do you have a XBOX pad attached by any chance their is a known bug with the xpad drivers that can hang the system. The issue was fixed on SteamOS but the fix was not completely accepted in the kernel yet.
Also can anyone test apitrace on:

Thanks
